Size: 16 Inch, 13.5 Amp
I have no complaints , easy handle and wheel assembly, I like the safety thumb button, Use a hand tool to loosen newly plowed soil and this guy will do the job pulverizing the Soil , it's a fun little trick just wear proper shoes gloves and safety glasses , it will get You Filthy dirty so be prepared it really beats that soil nicely, It does more work and much more power , just what my 4ft x 25ft garden needed ! ... show more

  • Great price for electric rototilling
Size: 16 Inch, 13.5 Amp
Very easy to set up. Powerful electric motor. Worked great on the beach instead of pulling weeds

  • This is NOT a toy!
Size: 16 Inch, 13.5 Amp
Having used a number of gas powered tillers in the past, I was not impressed by the light weight and small size of this unit. After 4-5 hours of breaking up dry, compacted soil (with many small rocks) and getting it down to 6-8 inches, without any sort of fault or failure, I am impressed! The only thing I think could be improved would be to provide a way to rotate the tines (manually) for clearing weeds and roots and such that get wound around them. Easy to assemble, easy to transport, easy to store. ... show more

  • For its size it’s really powerful
Size: 16 Inch, 13.5 Amp
It’s a beast, digs in really deep and by virtue of the rotor tines is almost self propelled. After an initial pass the thing digs in reallly deep,it leaves a really fine tilthe having chopped up any and all of the vegetation that I left from a seed bed. Buy it and have no regrets.

  • Very good digger!
Size: 16 Inch, 13.5 Amp
This thing digs great! It is not easy to hold onto, so rocks make it jump. You need to take breaks to rest your arms and grip, but it does a great job. I removed 11.5 cubic yards of soil us this and, at times a pick. but this little machine did a great job. If it gets you tired, just take a short break. ... show more

  • Good sized tiller for home/garden use
First, the assembly process is pretty straightforward. The instructions are clear, and you will find the assembly quite intuitive. Consider building this on a large piece of cardboard as the blades are very sharp. We have used many different types of rototillers over the past 30 or so years, some rented, some purchased 2nd hand, some borrowed. This electric version is much more convenient to use than any of the previous gas/oil mix versions we have used in the past. Plug and go. This is wider than expected, and that is a good thing. There are some good safety features built in, so this won't keep running if you remove your hands from the handles. It is lightweight, which helps you after using it a bit, but the lighter weight also means you will have to go over tough to break up patches more than once. Even after a longer workout, the motor did not seem to overheat. I think I was done before the machine was. This is a great machine for home use. If you are breaking up the ground for the first time, you will need to go over the area more than once, depending on how compact the ground is. For established beds, it should be a breeze to get through the ground and loosen things up. Keep track of where your extension cord is. It is easy to focus on moving the tiller and finding the cord where you don't want it (don't ask.) Overall, this is a great value, it is a sturdy machine, and will keep your gardens in good shape once you establish the area. ... show more

  • Better than I expected. Great for small jobs.
I got the Hykolity Tiller for preparing flower beds and small garden spaces and to my surprise it does a better job than I expected. That isn't to say a great job, just better than I expected and not bad. There are a lot of good things and few not so good things. It's very easy to assemble. The whole assembly consists of two pieces of tubular steel handle, 4 bolts, 4 wing nuts, two wheels, two plastic hub caps, and two plastic cable clips. Assembly can be completed in 15 minutes or less without more than a glance at the instructions. It's very light weight and compact and it can be maneuvered with much less effort than larger, heavier gas-powered machines. The smallish size makes it less difficult to work around objects or into corners like near fences. The 10Amp motor is much stronger than I expected it to be and after more than 3 hours of nonstop use it never overheated or felt like it was losing power. Honestly much stronger than I expected from such a small machine. The not so good. Its very lightweight for a tiller. I know I just said the lightweight was a benefit, and in some ways it is, but the downside is that it doesn't have sufficient weight to help the tines dig in and it tends to bounce around a lot on harder ground. Speaking of the tines, they are much thinner than other tillers I have used, and this may or may not reduce the service life of the tines... only time will tell. The shroud over the tines is very small and does little to prevent dirt being tossed out from the front and back, and the rotation speed of the tines is high enough that it does sling a lot of dirt around. With such small tines, high rotation speed and low weight, the tiller tends to have a fairly shallow digging depth requiring multiple passes to reach a satisfactory depth for most purposes. Oddly, it seems to dig better when being pulled backwards than when moving forward, but it is easily maneuverable to cover the same area, so it isn't too much of a problem. Even with the handful of negative things I have mentioned, I still think it's a good little, small garden tiller. It stores easily with a foldable handle, and wheels that rotate out of the way and it's very convenient compared to my larger gas tiller. For someone that needs to break up ground for a flower bed or small vegetable garden, or for keeping beds free of weeds with a soft surface layer of dirt I think it will satisfy most homeowner needs, but if you plan to grow a larger garden the Hykolity (where do they get these names) is a little too small. Overall its a good little compact tiller that punches above its weight for the price. ... show more
