This unit has an LCD display that shows the input and output temperatures, and the flow rate. I was able to confirm that it reports these values accurately. It recommends at 32 amp breaker, but since your options are 30 or 40 amps, it begs the question as to whether a 30 amp breaker will suffice. I created a test circuit using a 30 amp breaker and about 30 feet of 10 AWG wire. The breaker never tripped even at max flow (and presumably max current). The remote control seems to be of little use. You have to aim it directly at the unit with no obstructions, so you cannot install the heater in a cabinet and use the remote from outside. I suppose it relieves you from bending over and reaching the panel. It has three functions: increase temp, decrease temp, on/off. The remote has no display, so you have to look at the panel to see if it obeyed. In my test, the input water was 65F. Here were the displayed output temperatures for various flow rates in L/min. A liter is about a quart: 6 L/min -> 78F, 5L/min -> 81F, 4L/min ->86F, 3L/min ->94F, 2L/min ->106F. 4L/min is about a gallon per minute. This is the minimum flow one would normally use to wash their hands. At this rate, you would be washing your hands with water about the temperature of a warm swimming pool in summer. If you are trying to use temperature to help you clean your hands, you probably want it to be over 100F. The manual shows you how to set the unit for 3500W, 4500W or 5500W. But it also shows a chart that shows that any power over 3000W requires 220V. But this has a 110v plug, so how does that work? If you use this to replace your hot water source, you will be severely limiting how warm the water can get. Keep in mind, in my test the water started at 65 degrees. During winter, your input water temperature could get below 40F. I will be using this to take the chill off of my cold water supply. I will leave my hot water source connected to my main water heater. During the colder months, the cold water from the tap hurts my gums and fillings, so even raising the temperature to 70 degrees will be a big help. I will connect this to my cold water source, and send it right to my cold water faucet intake. My faucet has a fountain feature for rinsing teeth, so the flow rate is fairly slow. This is probably a great match for this application, but it is hard to see how it would otherwise be useful.

I ordered this item for the sink that is in the common area at work because there is no hot water that comes out of it. It's not a very big item so it was easy to get it fitted under the sink. The remote is a weird to have since it doesn't work if the doors are closed under the sink. There is hot water now which is great when I am washing my dishes.

The best part about this water heater is the 110v power requirement, making it usable with any standard outlet. The last point of use heater I had required much more power which rendered it ineffective for me, as the closest power supply for it was located in the garage, negating point of use. I feel this one would be great in case of off grid or power outage where a small generator would be in use.

Impressed by this water heater, it is barely bigger than a toaster. I was hoping to use it to rinse off after my outdoor sauna session, but after reading a review by another user with his mathematical equations, it seems as if it is only useful to wash your hands with warm water. It is convenient that you can use it on 110, but for such a small amount of warm water, I don’t find it very useful for my needs.

Well it was alot smaller than I expected. Im not sure if it could warm up more than a cup of tea, but if youre in need of a small on demand water heater for your sink, or rv its perfect.
