I bought this as a gift for my mom 1 year ago. The electric component still works. This blanket is very soft and thick, and my mom doesn't even have to turn it on to feel warmer. When she does turn it on, the lowest two settings are usually enough. The size is good for an evening on the couch, and a little small to use on a twin bed.

This blanket is so soft, it’s actually really warm without the heat on. I work in a cold section of our house, so I drape it over my chair and I am ao comfortable. I do the same for the dogs and their dog beds since they insist on laying next to me while I work. They did have a little bit of an odor to them when I first took them out of the packaging, but they were vacuum packed, and that went away quite quickly.

I am a repeat buyer of these blankets. I have several; I have three twin and one throw. My children each have a twin, while the throw hangs out on the couch, and I use the last twin. I appreciate the blankets for several reasons, even though there are some caveats. I will cover all these in a bit. First, let's cover the pros. To begin, the blankets provide enough comfortable heat for us in Arizona fall and winters. They are soft, comfortable, and reliable. They keep warm all night, and as someone who struggles with nerve pain and arthritis in the cold, they have been a lifesaver. Since the material is thick, I would guess these blankets would also work in colder weather as well. Our temps dipped into the low 30s some nights, and these kept us toasty. As for safety, these heating blankets are tried and true. They have never shorted out and have never sparked or posed a fire risk. Our pups love them as well. In fact, I often have to jockey for position under the blanket with our three tiny terrors because the twin is a tight fit. If you have large dogs, size up. Consider this a warning... Now, let's cover the cons. Although I love these blankets and have bought them repeatedly, they do not hold up well with washing. My navy blue blanket in a twin size did not last a season after being run though the delicate cycle on cold. The stitching along the bottom split, exposing the internal wires. I could have sewn it shut, but this was a hassle and could not guarantee the same stitching would not break again. However, my son's gray blanket in a twin size did NOT split when washed. It seems the quality may vary with each product. Considering I only spent 29.99 on sale, I wasn't too upset with seven months' heavy use of a blanket. It would have been nice to get more than one season of use, but no such luck. Another con is in regard to the fabric. Since the blanket uses a sherpa lining, it can become rough and scratchy with use. Make sure to use fabric softener to help prevent this. Overall, I do recommend this blanket when compared to other costlier products. These have proved mostly reliable, sturdy, comfortable, and warm. Despite my one bad experience with shoddy craftsmanship, the other blankets I bought are still working and doing their job.

I love this blanket. It has a lovely textured plush look and is soft and comforting. The heat levels are perfect. The inside of the throw is soft and fuzzy. The only drawbacks; the manufacturer has firmly sewn the large laundry label on the top of the throw. I pulled it off using a seam ripper, no biggie. More serious issue is that the coupler you plug the control into is also on the top. This makes it a bit hard to smooth the blanket down during use, and it isn't a good look. Again I ripped out the seam and relocated it to the bottom. Even with these drawbacks it is great especially for the price so 5 stars anyway.
