I highly recommend this chair for anyone overweight. The person I got this for was around 500 lbs at the time he got the chair, and he really likes using it. As he has continued to lose weight, the chair still works well for him. I would say, this chair is too big for someone who's average size. I weigh about 200 lbs and am 5'4" and i can't sit up straight in this chair. It's still comfy for me, as I kinda lean back and snuggle under a blanket, but it doesn't work well for me if I want to sit upright. We've had this chair for a few months and regularly use it. I have stopped putting it in the carrying bag because I always find those bags difficult to use (this goes for all bag chairs and is not unique to this particular chair) and it's easy enough for my to carry it by the legs while it's folded up. Over time, it has become a little harder to fold up and unfold, but the quality of the chair is still great.

Regardless of what size you are when it comes to these outdoor camping chairs you want comfort and stability...this chair gives both. Does not hurt the back of your legs at the knee. The only this is one of the steel arms was bent, but I am going to keep it any way travels well...even with the little extra weight. Price can't be beat for this type of chair.

Good quality but beware of quantity pictured
Very sturdy but very heavy chair. This one is to put in one place and not move around but the quality is very good. BEWARE though….. it is pictured as 2 chairs both in your cart and on your order page. I thought I was getting 2 chairs so the picture is very misleading. **Update** I contacted Amazon & told them I was charged for 2 chairs but only received one. The customer service I received was outstanding and they remedied the problem within a 10 minute online chat.

Comfortable easy to fold up
I have bought 2 sets of these. I liked them so much i got a second set to replace my other camp chairs. Originally bought because they can handle heavy people, but they're so comfortable and easy set up and take down I had to replace my older chairs
