We had a wood-burning fireplace that was an odd size. We wanted an electric insert (wood fires were too much mess and bother), but traditional inserts wouldn't fit. We considered electric log sets, but then we found this one - which was just a couple of inches smaller than our fireplace opening, and the contemporary styling suited our house. We built a wooden frame to fill the gap and painted it flat black, and it looks built-in. If you look at the fireplace close-up, you can tell it isn't real, but from a distance of a few feet it could pass for a gas flame. Love the convenience - it is on almost every evening. The heater wasn't all that important for us, but it does work. Final note - one reviewer complained of a "floppy glass panel" - I don't think he installed it correctly. The instructions are a little vague, but there are hooks on the back of the glass panel. You have to lift the glass up before you push it in and down to engage the upper hooks. Do yourself a favor and print out the manual from the link on the Amazon page so you don't have to get your magnifying glass out to read the itty bitty one that comes in the box. ... show more

Wow this turned out to be the best purchase. We build our own mantle and it’s stunning. Completely changed the look of our condo. Lots of fun colors for the flames and it actually puts out heat. Instructions were fine and it performs as expected

Perfect fireplace! Works well with Alexa, although I don't know how to turn off the heat when asking Alexa to turn on fireplace. It turns on fireplace and heat. Otherwise I highly recommend!

I got this product with high expectations. However, after a month blue light is only visible on half of the fireplace making it ugly looking. Do you waste your money on it. I am trying to reach out to customer service but failed. It’s low quality product that will fail for sure.

60 inch, installed recessed mount. The fireplace looks wonderful but we didn't think we would ever get it installed. The so called instructions were very vague and the print sooooo tiny. We had a heck of a time getting the glass out. Finally had to unscrew the bracket on one side. We have remodeled over a dozen homes and are certainly adept with tools, fabrication, materials, etc. These instructions s*ck. The item shipped promptly and arrived undamaged.
