For the price, I didn’t expect much, but I feel it’s slightly better, but it does have its issues. This beautiful cooktop takes a while to heat up and even when it does I couldn’t get my pasta water up to a rolling boil. it did finally get the water hot enough to cook the pasta, but it took a while for that to happen, I was tired of waiting so, I put the noodles in the water and left the room, I got busy, lost track of time, totally forgot the pasta when I remembered, I went to check it and it was cooked, not over cooked or burned, just cooked which is great, but cooking holiday meals are going to be super slow. (Updated 12-01-2024) a bit of a learning curve after using a whirlpool for the last 8 years, but I cooked a full thanksgiving meal on this cooktop it worked amazingly and it looked good doing it. If this cooktop holds up 5 years it will be worth it weight in gold.

I was so so very happy after HOURS of searching the web to find this magnificent cook top rated for 30 amps rather than 40 amps. Yes,I was told I could have used one of those cook tops rated for 40 amps -- because I would most likely not be using all the burners on the highest setting at once. However, I also read on the internet that if I connected a cook top rated for 40 amps onto my ,(poured in concrete) 30 amp cord I should also have my fire department on speed dial. My husband the day before, had also searched the web for a 30 amp unit after unfruitful trips to Home Depot,Lowes,an Appliance center, and Walmart; he did not discover this HARD TO FIND jewel on the web because he was looking at higher priced units!!!! Our current granite cut out allowed this cook top to hang on by only a 1/4" on each side so we built more under edge support on the sides of the counter using yard sticks. I also wanted to further guaranteed that this top had better "give" to avoid an accidental break, so we replaced the edge-wrap-around-rubber-cord supplied with the unit with a thicker and wider cord from Home Depo. Our touch-top Kitchen Aid cook top lasted 24 years, even with one edge cracked after I foolishly placed a very heavy pot on the edge. That kitchen Aid cook top was very Shiny black. I like this new slightly textured shiny black surface much better!!! The old touch top had a kid proof feature which went off occasionally with only me using it, which sometimes required a trip to reset the breaker in the garage. With this knob control unit, the 'power on ' is touch-top but requires a knob turn, so this 2 step automatically makes this a child proof top. Many of the cook tops being offered have a united double burner for grilling hot dogs and bacon in a long pan. With the newest evidence in the book HOW NOT TO AGE by Dr. Michael Greger, I am no longer interested in " browning" by grilling hot dogs,bacon, and meat anymore In a long pan with such a feature and I am free from looking for and storing a new longer pan. Also, each round burner seems to have very even heat, unlike my old kitchen Aid which seemed to have hot spots within the largest expandable circle. My husband was shocked by how inexpensive including the optional purchase of the 3 year warranty was on this hard to find jewel.

Do not buy this cooktop. The top is scratched and unsightly after ONE USE. I cannot get it cleaned no matter what I do. I bought it in a hurry, without doing proper research and now I sorely regret my purchase. I would return it except I already discarded the box after it was installed. I can't wait to replace it, although that will be a while. I am going to buy individual electric burners to use in the meantime. Basically it is recommended that the pots & pans are not moved around on the cooktop to avoid scratching it. How impractical!

Looks nice enough and it works. I do wonder if it takes more energy. The heating elements are under ceramic glass which the heat has to pass through. The knobs I feel are more durable than models with touch sensitive inputs embeded in the glass, and what if it gets dirty? Could that trigger starting it? Also ya need to be careful cleaming it or using pans that are not clean and smooth on the bottom. All that said, you get used to it. I would buy this again. Looks cool

I really like the on/off and large/small burner selector are touch activated. The knobs are substantial. Each knob has a hot surface indicator that stay on until the surface is safe to touch. I have to get used to having the most common burner control knob in the back. The surface is not completely smooth but the difference isn't obvious. My only complaint is that the included armored cable is not 1/2 inch. I'm guessing 13 mm. This isn't a big problem, you just need to be creative and try to stay sane finding small parts at a big box store. The unit is easy to install but don't attempt it yourself if you are unfamiliar with electrical work. You will need very large wire wing nuts. I haven't had it very long but so far better than expected. I mentioned the surface texture so I thought I should add this. We managed to break the top on the first day. A drinking glass dropped about a foot and the top shattered. I can't say this was in any way a problem with the cooktop buty I found this online, "the ceramic glass of your cooktop is tempered and built to withstand heavy use, so you'd have to drop something pretty heavy to actually break it."

Knob control will take some getting used to, the front burner controls are towards the rear of the cooktop, you have a touch power button to turn on before the knob control work, it also has a light beside the knob control that lets you know that the burner is on and will flash after use until the unit is cool to touch and will go off, nice cooktop and fair price !

This is the worst stove I have ever owned it took me 25 minutes to cook 4 pieces of bacon the heat goes in and out I wish I would have returned it I actually looked to do that and seen I missed my time to return it by one day I do not recommend this product at all
