Me: 67 year old bicycle rider, past motorcycle rider, handy. 6' 2" 265lbs. This eBike is crazy good quality and fast! Bought 2 for wife and I. First one took 45 minutes to put together. The second one less than 30. Easy operation. Batteries say UL listed, I'm still going to charge mine outside. The quality of these eBikes are superb. Disk brakes, Shimano derailer, front and rear fenders, all the legal required reflectors, very decent seat, adjustable handle bars, powerful light and horn. You need to know how to properly adjust the quick release front axel and seat. Anyone who complained about the front wheel coming off didn't properly install it. Very strong frame. The only thing I will add is a rear book holder and red light. The front fork and rear frame have threaded holes to accept accessories. As for operation: This is a very quick bike. Make sure that you adjust the brakes before riding. If you ever operated a motorcycle then you're fine, if not, you need to understand that if you're using the throttle to operate, you need to let go of the throttle before braking and brake harder with the rear. This is a heavy bike and shouldn't flip over, but depending upon how you sit on the bike, you may have some weight forward. Assist mode: Wow, I can see many people getting into trouble with this. Start at level 1 until you get familiar with operating in all conditions. Flat ground, up and down hill. The assist is very powerful and has lots of torque. As you start to pedal, you get a lot of help. Don't let the help/speed make you lose control nor lose short distance shopping ability. I give this eBike a 9.5 out of 10. This is not taking the price into account. Doing so it would rate a 15 out of 10! Time will tell how long the battery will last, but if the quality of the eBike is related to the battery, then there shouldn't be any issues. I bought this as a Christmas present for my wife and so far she loves it! We've rented e-bikes a few times and have enjoyed them and those were much more expensive to purchase than this one, ranging from $1500 to $2500 when we priced them out. The quality of this bike and the value for the money is great, as I feel like this one is just as good as those bikes at a much better price point. It is very solid feeling when riding and has very good speed. The functionality of the controller is easy, the light is great at night and the horn definitely gets peoples attention too. It was very easy to assemble and took me about an hour. The seller has been great to work with as well as I've contacted them about spare parts and accessories. The media could not be loaded. This is a great starter electric bike that can be unlocked for more performance. The bike itself is a typical mountain bike frame. It is solid and well put together. In terms of standard bike features it has a Shimano 7-speed gear shifter, front and reach disc brakes, front and rear mud flaps, easy adjust seat hight, adjustable handlebars, and adjustable locking front shocks over 27.5" wheels. In terms of e-bike equipment it has a front headlight, big 48v battery, electric horn, and a Jasion YM1 48v onboard controller/display. What i really love about this controller is that this is a frequently used controller across many bikes so there are lots of instructions and tips around how to use it and better yet, how to unlock it to reprogram it to your preferred settings. To enter the setup menu you hold the Plus and Minus button at the same time to enter the configuration menu. From there you get several settings that can be configured: - P01 = Screen Brightness Adjustment - P02 = Miles vs KM - P03 - Battery Voltage (48v for the included batter) - P04 - Power Ration for each pedal assist mode (How much power iin each pedal assist mode) - P05 - Number of Pedal Assist Modes (to increase or decrease the granularity of pedal assist modes) - P06 - Outside Wheel Diameter (This impacts the speedometer reading) - P07 - Number of Magnets in the Speed Sensor (Dont change this) - P08 - Speed Limit in Kilometers (max this out to have no speed limit) - P09 - Zero Start setting (If you can hit the throttle from a stand still) - P10 - Drive Mode (Pedal Assist, Throttle, Mix) - P11 - Power Sensitivity - how sensitive the throttle is - P12 - Power startup for Pedal Assist - P13 - Number of magnets for power sensing (Dont change this) - P14 - Current (Increase this to provide more torque/power) - P15 - Battery undervoltage (prevents the battery getting too depleted) - P16 - Reset Mileage Display (to take the mileage back to zero) - P17 - Cruise Control Setting (On/Off) - P18 - Password for the screen to prevent changes - P19 - Power Implementation - limits max speed for each pedal assist mode This bike works well out of the box with no adjustments but i love that i have the option to adjust the settings and configure to my liking - including squeaking out a bit more speed/torque out of the bike.
