Purchased this to dig holes for a bunch of new plants. Works very well and has lots of power. It’s nice that it has an extension to dig deeper holes if necessary. Seems well made. It will do the job! We planted 20+ emerald green arborvitae with this digger, and it did the job very well! We didn't get a larger auger, just drilled 4 six inch holes, and rounded them out to accommodate the root balls of the trees. We don't have real rocky soil, and it zipped through the dirt. You do need to be careful, if you hit a root, it has enough power to whack you! If you do hit smaller rocks, it will still do the job, but it can buck you! I thought it was worth the $ just to do our trees, but we have lent it to neighbors and family too! Even did footers for a deck with it! Caution: Always Call Miss Utility and get your ground marked before you dig!!

The reason I went for electric was to control the speed and not to mess with the smoke of a 2-stoke engine. I was right. I just used to install a clothes line pole. I controlled speed even when I hit a root. I was able to move and start another hole. It is light weight and the bit that comes with it did just fine. Just move sideways to expand the hole. I had a knee operation and didn’t have help. This worked great. I bought the additional bits, but didn’t need them. I’m sure I will use later. I highly recommend this product after reviewing all the augers on the market. I went to You Yube and EBay and Google.

This auger is easy to use just plug-in to power source and start making holes. 15 minutes after unboxing I had three holes 2 ft.deep dug. This auger has more than enough torque. Not sure when I'll need it again but I will not have to be worried about gasoline carburetors clogging up are any problems like that. I will probably use it this spring for planting shrubs in my yard. The only downside is it you have to be by an electrical socket or have a generator available. I will never buy a gasoline powered auger again. One word of caution if you have rocks, trees (or roots) in the area you are digging this could lock up and you could get hurt. I highly recommend this product. I am sorry I didn't take pictures.

I had to make 8 holes 36” deep for 6x6 posts to install new solar panel racks and this did the job. You need to brace yourself for a moderate jerk if the auger hits a large rock but it’s manageable. I was using a 12” auger and would say that’s about as large as you can go. It wasn’t the easiest job I’ve done but it was way better than doing it by hand. I’m in my 60’s and doubt I could have accomplished this project without it.
