The turbo mode delivers instant relief, perfect for hot summer days. User-friendly Features: Comes with a remote control, 24 hour timer, and 3 fan speeds. The sleep-mode reduces noise and adjust temps overnight for comfort. Easy installation: clear instructions and adjustable window panels make setup straight forward. Noise level: maybe the quietest window AC on the market. And because of its design, inside part of AC is only put out the wind, and the real unit is behind the wall, but noticeable louder at max cool which is fine for the day time. The only cons: I can think is the unit is not a sleek design and is bulkier than some modern models. Verdict: it is a solid choice for anyone needing reliable and quite window AC. This Electactic 12,000 BTU window air conditioner is fantastic! It cools my 500 sq. ft. room quickly and keeps it comfortable even on hot days. This air conditioner is definitely a powerhouse when it comes to cooling! If you have a large room, especially one with vaulted ceilings like ours, this unit can absolutely handle it. It's big and it's heavy, no doubt about that, but the cooling power is undeniable. The (relatively) quiet operation, thanks to the saddle design with the compressor outside, is also a plus – it's noticeably quieter than our previous standard window AC. The timer and remote control add a lot of convenience, and the filter alert is a nice touch for maintenance. However, potential buyers with standard window tracks need to be aware: this "saddle" design, while great for wider sills, does not sit well on typical window tracks. We actually had to get creative with clamping to ensure it was stable and secure, and it almost damaged our tracks during the initial placement. This is a significant drawback if you don't have a deep, wide windowsill. Another point to note is the complete absence of a window kit. You'll need to figure out your own way to seal around the unit to maximize efficiency and keep bugs out. On the bright side, once we got it properly installed, it has been fantastic at cooling our large, vaulted-ceiling living room. The ability to still have a relatively unobstructed view and open/close the window is also a nice feature compared to traditional U-shaped units. Pros: It does work well for a big space, and doesn't take up too much room inside the house since most of the unit sits outside of the window. Cons: Does not sit well on standard window tracks and requires adaptation for secure installation. Large and heavy unit. Overall: If you have a large room and wider window sills, and you're prepared to MacGyver a bit for the installation and provide your own sealing, this AC unit offers impressive cooling power and quiet operation. However, those with standard window tracks should be aware of the potential installation challenges.
