The media could not be loaded. I like this vent it’s pretty and works well. It has four settings and a real bright lights. It came with a remote control which’s a plus. About the noise level, it’s really not bad at all I am not sure why it sounds louder in the video, but it isn’t. Recommended

I was initially very skeptical of purchasing an off-brand 36" stainless range hood for our kitchen upgrade, but VERY satisfied with the overall outcome, overall price and overall quality compared to our intended KitchenAid or VentaHood brands at 10X the price. We'll see if we still like it after we install the 36" pro stove/range beneath it, but with the 900CFM blower, we'll see if it holds up to its future tasking for use with propane burner temperatures. This unit is pretty well made with thick stainless steel throughout (it's heavy). The stainless is covered with a herculean stick-on protective plastic that took some doin' to get off. The protective plastic left behind some remnants and traces of adhesive that we are still trying to remove. Installation instructions were 'at best' general directions for reference only. The entire installation should not be performed by someone without skill (general skill) to accomplish anything mechanical or otherwise less than a decent household handyman. Perhaps a general contractor would be best for any of the faint at heart. It wasn't hard for one person (me), but tricky and a bit of head scratching went on. It would be best to raise this thing with some help (another helping hand, wife to hand another beer). I did the whole thing myself. The illumination provided by the 4 bulbs is more than adequate to the cooking surface; and with a bit of skill, can be selectively lowered to provide a dimmed night light for midnight raids in the kitchen area. The suction is yet to be fully determined (cooking the big Italian dinner) but the 4 fan speeds are relatively quiet when operating, but has a low frequency vibration caused by a fluttering of the chimney covers on the high setting. This can be remedied by stuffing the lower chimney cover area inside with a bit of the product packing foam. I initially claimed that it would probably look like a cheap "Chinese made" product that would be perfect for a home-reselling remodel and not expected to be used by anyone with culinary prowess. Well, I'm here to tell you that I am excited for the opportunity to cook beneath this hood for many years in the future. Oh yeah, I'm also a Chef. Dicks ... show more

I ordered the Ekon Stove Hood in September of 2023 for my son who had just bought a home and was renovating it. He did not open the box until January, 2024. When he opened the box the glass surrounding the hood was in little pieces. The time frame for returning or requesting a refund had long past considering it was for 30 days. I decided to take a shot and contact Amazon who contacted the company Ekon. They were under no obligation at this time to do anything for me. To my surprise, they said they would send a new hood and charge me nothing. They sent the hood within a week. The box had holes in it when it arrived. Of course when we opened the box, the glass was broken again. I contacted the company again. They were most apologetic and told me they would investigate and let me know. A week past and I received a message from Mike with Ekon. He was apologetic and told me they would refund my money. This company at this point did not have to do anything to help me. They were wonderful. I have received my full refund! I also received a very nice note of apology. I did not buy a replacement hood from them but only because I wanted the glass on the hood and did not want to try ordering again. Would I buy from this company again? I sure would. The product was beautiful and very well built. Ekon cannot help how their shippers handled the product. However, I believe I would get a new company handling my product. ... show more

This fan is awesome. It was a bit tricky to install because our ceilings are low. The lights are great, and the suction is comparable to industrial fume hoods (I am a retired chef) It is a bit loud - not horrible & no problem for me, but if you are likely to watch TV in the same room or something like that, it might be a little annoying. Still - the value for money is excellent - I paid over $1,000 10 years ago for a hood that didn't work as well but it was quiet. ... show more

It was lighter than I expected but once installed looked solid. Nice grease baffles and controls. Instructions are scant though on installation and operation but it’s rather simple anyway. The hood itself is fine, pleased with everything...EXCEPT the fact that the touch controls are absolutely terrible! I woke up last night to noise coming from the kitchen to discover the hood had turned itself on high speed exhaust! In addition to that, when boiling water if any steam comes in contact with the touch pad, the units starts changing settings while you stand there and watch it go to different speeds or turn on and off. It's ridiculous! I had limited height to work with under a drop soffit, but I did meet the minimum recommended mounting height off the stove. A higher mounting height would probably help as it gives more distance for the steam to get pulled into the hood instead of having small amounts roll out the front and cause this issue....but last night it just turned itself on high and was exhausting 900 cfm of heat in my house to the outside when it was 15 degrees out...perfect. Unfortunately, this hood is outside the return window since the kitchen construction took longer than expected and looks like I'm stuck with it. Of course I had to anchor it through a tile backsplash so even if I have to waste money on a new one (it certainly won't be from this manufacturer) it may not cove the anchor holes in the tile. Why not just regular switches? Very frustrating...do not buy this or anything from Ekon. ... show more
