Fits a 1 1/2” straightener with no problem. (See picture). Does not slide around so keeps the straightener secure and prevents it from moving around. (Have not used as a travel pouch as straightener has its own pouch.) Appears as though it would work very well for travel. Will probably buy a white one to match countertop as mat is a bit larger than I expected. Works as described for protecting countertop from heat damage. Would recommend.
