  • Worth the money for sure
Style: 42" e-STEER Zero-Turn w/(4) 12.0Ah Batte...
I hardly ever give 5 stars! This mower is outstanding in every way and worth every penny. I live on 30 acres is California and getting the weeds down before fire season is so important. This mower is amazing. My land is not level by any means and I also have to drive it through a vineyard and does and perfect job. Charges fast and holds the charge for a long time. I can mow for at least 1 1/2 hours without having to recharge. I use the Ego push mower for the hard to get places with the sit down mower. It has made my life so much easier and effective. I have so much more free time saving hours of walking around pushing a mower. I highly recommend this unit. It was shipped in a great container, easy to assemble and the batteries last a long time. I use it almost year round. ... show more

  • Awesome so far!
Style: 42" e-STEER Zero-Turn w/(4) 12.0Ah Batte...
So much to say! Delivery was perfect and faster than expected. Assembly was easy, the metal crate it came in was a little annoying dismantling, but was well protected. Came with batteries that were maybe 18% charged but fully charged in under 2 hours. I didn’t buy this over a gas lawnmower to save the planet, I went with electric mainly because gas is a hassle and this is way to convenient. It’s super quiet…. Love that! It’s like a golf cart, you just keep it plugged in and it’s ready to go. Spring has just started so really just starting to mow and do spring clean up. I did get the bagger… works awesome. My grass is not fully in to give a real reviews yet, but I blew tons of leaves from my woods and bushes and the mower ate it up. I’ve been pulling a gorilla cart with lots of heavy stuff all over my property, using a thatcher, aerator and seeder with out issues. I have just under an acre of property and batteries are more than adequate. I plan to update my review when my thick grass comes in and I’m mowing regularly, but I don’t anticipate battery life being an issue. My 9 year old can drive it without an issue, my 6 year is a tad short to be on seat and reach pedals as the seat requires weight to operate. Very happy with purchase. Get the extended warranty for piece of mind. I plan to update this review in the summer after more thorough use. Summer Update: love it!! Cuts great. Batteries are holding up. Every lawnmower will have some cons, I think the only con is that is kind of light weighted as it’s not made with tons of metal like a gas powered might be so it slips a little on wet terrain or hills, but it’s a beast! I tow all kinds of things around my property to… like dragging a 300lb trampoline across my property is no big deal. The bagger is slightly shifted past the left side of the body which is a little annoying so I can’t cut perfectly along a fence (right side has the shoot so left side yiu want to get close to like a wall. Anyway, you’ll figure work arounds. All the pros far outweigh the cons. No regrets. ... show more

  • Great mower with loads of power and runtime Great mower with loads of power and runtime
Style: 42" e-STEER Zero-Turn w/(4) 12.0Ah Batte...
I love this mower! I aleady had the E-GO snow blower, so I already had 2 high capacity batteries to add to the 4 that came with the mower. I run it on all 6, which charge right in the mower itself with the included wallcharger. I 3D printed mounts so I can hang the charger from above on my garage door track for convenience. The mower is easy to control with it's 3 driving modes, plus 4 speed ranges for the accelerator pedal. It also has a brake/parking brake. The steering wheel shows all you need to see, and you even have 4 speeds for the blades. I recommend purchasing the double bagger if you bag your clippings. It also does well pulling an Ohio Steel 15 gallon dump trailer around. Easy to drive with a little practice, but definitely different than with the lap bars, though E-GO makes a less expensive model with this alternate steering. Delivered by DHL Freight and they moved the steel pallette container into my garage. Takes some time to "uncrate" with a socket set and wrenches, but not bad. The steel can all be recycled, but takes a full-size pickup or trailer to haul away. ... show more

  • Easier than gas, fun to operate.
Style: 42" e-STEER Zero-Turn w/(4) 12.0Ah Batte...
We opted for an electric mower, since the nearest gas station is about 15 minutes away and we didn't want to have to waste 30 min every time we needed a fill up. Also, (and time will tell on this, of course), we are thinking there may be less upkeep/repair work with an electric vs a gas motor. It only came with 4 batteries (has space for 6), and the batteries are extremely expensive, but with less than an acre of land to mow, so far we have been able to finish on a single charge with the four batteries. If you have an acre of more you'd probably want to get the 2 extra batteries. (e.g. don't believe them when they say you can go like 2+ acres on 1 charge with only 4 batteries). Even despite the 4 vs 6 batteries, we love this mower. ... show more

  • Blade motor can shut down
Style: 42" e-STEER Zero-Turn w/(4) 12.0Ah Batte...
I have one acre, 3/4 of it is mowed. It's a bit rough, not a flat surface. The grass is a bit thick and wet in the spring. My 22hp Husqvarna cuts through all this well. I just switched to electric because my tractor has other issues and after watching all the you tube videos, I decided to go electric, and specifically this model. I received it on good order, took about an hour to unpack and a couple hours to charge. I mowed my front lawn using the mulching plug. It looked great. The battery dropped by about 10%. The back yard is the big area. I set the height about 3 notches from the top. It mowed very well. When done I was down to 49%. My 2nd mow a week later, I lowered the deck further down, still with the plug. The blades shut off on my 3 times. I had to turn off the mower and restart to reset the tripping mechanism. I ended up raising the deck up a couple notches and it was fine. While I got a good mow, I didn't like the fact the blade motors shut off. Bog down? Perhaps, but not shut off. They are brushless motors so you won't get burn marks on the armature. I think too much grass clippings are bulked up with no chance of escape so it bogs down the motor enough to shut it off. I never saw this happen not was it discussed in any video. When I was done mowing, my battery was down to 29%. Cleaning underneath used a garden hose adapter. I've never cared for this method and prefer to remove the deck. While this one is easier than my Husqvarna, it's harder than it needs to be. John Deere got it right. So I'm kinda on the fence with being satisfied. It's quiet and steers great. No gas.. if it didn't shut off on me I may have given it a 5 star rating. ... show more

  • Comfortable for Large Folks
Style: 42" e-STEER Zero-Turn w/(4) 12.0Ah Batte...
After a full season of use last year, I just got Big Green out for her first ride of the season. As a wide person, I find this a very comfortable machine. As long as I go up and down at a reasonable speed, it handles my rather steep hill nicely. It is also very willing to power through my field when I ask it to. You will need to look out for big dips or lumps, but it is much sturdier than I thought it might be. I have found the 4 batteries adequate for the 2 acres or so that I usually do at one time, though it does charge pretty quickly when needed. When I was cleaning up for the end of the season, I mowed then let it cool before charging and mowing again. That was close to 5 acres. Oh, if you have mobility problems. This is also very easy to get on and off of. When you get it, DO LOOK FOR THE SMALL FLAT BOX WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS and TOOLS BEFORE YOU START TAKING APART THE CONTAINER. Everything you need is there, but I didn’t find this box until I had gone crazy trying to find something that would work on the bolts of the very sturdy metal shipping container, which has made a great firewood holder. 🤓 ... show more

  • Avoid at all costs
Style: 42" e-STEER Zero-Turn w/(4) 12.0Ah Batte...
One year in with this lawnmower and I very much regret this purchase. Initially it seemed to work well, but as of the second year it has been a constant struggle. The batteries seem very poorly designed and temperamental - I'm currently waiting on customer support to replace all 6, while my grass continues to grow. I would never buy this again, and would advise everyone to stay away. It seems like these folks just don't understand how to build a battery based tool. Customer service has been friendly but extremely unhelpful. ... show more

  • Efficient, quiet and fun.
Style: 42" e-STEER Zero-Turn w/(4) 12.0Ah Batte...
I have several EGo tools and have been favorably pleased. I needed a riding mower for a two acre pasture like parcel. I had a tractor style JD mower that was dying. I didn't think I would need the Zero turn mower but I have found it to be substantially more enjoyable and efficient especially with the steering wheel feature. Four batteries is enough to do the two acres but it will hold six. Charges fairly quickly and easy. Easy and kind of fun to use. I am enjoying the quiet and efficiency without having to put gas in it. ... show more
