I almost want to take a star off due to the shipping issues. I was due to arrive June 24th, but didn't get here until July 2, with zero explanation as to what the hold up was. The unit was shipped via fedex, and the stall happened in transit 2/3 of the way through the products journey to me, so it's not an EGO issue, it's a fedex issue. When it did get here though, it was well shipped in a steel cage of sorts on a pallet. The steel i think was mostly so they can stack the pallets on top of each other in the warehouse, but also protects the unit in shipping. Removal was very straightforward, and the way the weight was distributed, as soon as i picked the mower up and pushed it out of wheel wells on the steel cage, it tipped the weight forward making like a little ramp down to ground level and came right out. There was minimal assembly, and they did include tools, however getting a 13mm ratcheting wrench makes for a much quicker job. The batteries had 16% juice in em when installed, so it was enough for a little test drive and to bring it over to the porch where i have power wired to the outside of the house and could plug it in to charge. Charging went fine, then I did my first mow. I got somewhere around 1/4 to 1/2 acre to mow, and did that easily on a single charged, used about 30% of the battery from full. I do have some bits where i have incline/decline and slope and it handled everything quite well. Being twice the width of my push mower and having zero turn quick turns i did my lawn in half the time even on my first mow while im still getting accustomed to it. just generally speaking, the mower looks great and rides great. Excellent workmanship all around All in all this thing is great. I do have one gripe though, and it's fairly small, but the side chute that is able to be flipped up doesn't have any way to hold it up. The initial location where I was going to store this has double doors where it's just barely able to fit while holding the thing up and it's up a slight ramp. This means i have one hand holding this flap up, and the other trying to go forward or backwards, and given this isn't a pedal and steering wheel operation, it's very difficult to go forward or backward straight with one hand and the two levers. It would have been nice if it had some sort of mechanism to hold it up on it's own. I have since abandoned the idea of storing the mower in my little shed and will have to build something specially for it, which is probably for the better anyways. The shed is a ways from the house and power, so when i go to make it's new home it will probably be directly adjacent to the house where i can wire a new set of power outlets for the charging system that was included

The Z6 is not my first electric riding mower as I recently sold my 7 year old Ryobi Riding mower, which had served me well and had no mechanical issues while I had it. Simply put, the Ego Z6 technology didn't exist when I purchased my last electric and it seemed like it was time to go with the Ego zero turn, since I already have a number of Ego tools including a self-propelled push mower, single stage snow blower, and leaf blower. The Z6 arrived via FedEx and they placed the mower right in my garage. Unpacking was easy and the instructions were documented well. I did get some help rolling the mower off of the metal crate, but after that assembly was a breeze. Only the seat and the lap bars had to be installed with the bolts and assembly tools that were provided in a box with foam fittings for the bolts and assembly tools (very professional). I think it noteworthy that Ego provided one extra of eash bolt (just in case thee was an issue with bolt manufacturing - which there wasn't). I should note that the Z6 seat does not come with Armrests, which are helpfull for a 60+ guy to stand up after mowing. Fortunately, for around $100 I was able to order a set of genuine Ego aremrests from Power+Parts that fit perfectly (don't forget to order the mounting bolts, too). After using 3 times to mow my yard, I've found the 6 6.0 batteries run for about 1 hour and had 40% of their charge left, so that is all I needed to get the job done without getting close to Safe Mode. I appreciate the wash-out port on the mower deck and connect it to my hose every time I finish mowing so when the time comes to change the blades, I won't have caked on grass to deal with. I should mention that I live in a northern state so being able to remove the 6 56V batteries at the end of the mowing season and store in my warm basement for the winter is a big deal. Quiet, awsome controls, and Ego quality make this mower a great choice for an upgrade to your mowing chores.

I have been able to use the mower once, so far. It cuts well. There is a learning curve to operating it, as the controls are very sensitive. As recommended, I have started my usage under "control " mode and expected less sensitivity. The shipping of the mower was unsatisfactory. I was expecting delivery on May 29. On May 27 tracking stated "out for delivery", but it was in Chicago (1100 miles from me). Then it traveled to NJ, then NY, then Ma and finally sat in Bangor for several day before finally being delivered on June 08. That was 10 days after original estimate. The only communication I received was from Amazon, on May 29, stating that it was delayed. I had to sign up to FedEx Freight to see where it was. The actual delivery went well. However, being delivered ten days late, with minimum communicatins, is not acceptable.

Mower came in a metal crate, everything was well protected. Seat, handles, and batteries were easy to install. Charging batteries takes about 2 1/2 hours to get to 100% from 20%. Mower drives and cuts great even on our rough 1 acre of land. EGO advertise mower will cut 1 acre of land on full charge, I have not been able to get my acre of land cut on one charge even with cutting speed on low and drive speed on low. Still working on how to get more out of it. Over all love this EGO mower, well made, durable and looks great.

This is a very good machine. You’ll need help to get it off the metal pallet it comes on, but easy to use, powerful and fast if you want it to be. My wife loves it and can get over an hour of mowing with six 6Ah batteries.

Update in early August 2026 when, unfortunately, I am now outside my return window... If I could return this then I would. If I could give this 0 stars then I would. What a useless toy this thing really is. The commercial version, if there is such a thing, might be able to mow grass. This thing most certainly cannot. I wish I have kept the JD D140 from my days back in NY. I finally got the grab bar situation sorted out. Instead of placing the handles inside the bit attached to the mower, you have to attach them outside it. Meaning that the lower portion of the grab bars are now not protected. Which moron signed off on that design flaw... So today I got out there again. Bright day, mid 70s with dewy wet grass that had last been mowed last Sunday (IE a week ago). and no actual rain in several days. Meaning it shouldn't have mattered. The front even triggers a useless blades stop error on the toy. Grrr. Then the 'fun' (sic) really started. Move to the back, remembering that there's that one section where it's a bit thicker so slow down a bit and...... basically trip the blades every 6 feet going at speeds that a sloth would lap. My bad, up the blade speed to 3 (I don't use the app based turbo option. It should be on the mower itself damnit) and.... No difference.... JHC, at mid speed, with full speed blades, I should be able to take in the harvest, not struggle to cut fracking grass. And then there's the battery situation. OMFG, the batteries.... I made it lass than 50% of my 0.6 acre of land before they hit 10% and wouldn't mow anything else. Thankfully, I had a misfit set of other batteries that got the job done. Just... A set of 6 12aH batteries might get you the advertised 1.5 acres, this lot of 6's most certainly cannot. Oh, and BTW, the 5yo 21inch self propelled, that I bought this for to replace it, didn't choke on the grass like this blasted toy has. Sure the blade speed and noise went skyward and it sucked up my 10aH like no one's business but it never choked on it. And it got the pleasure of having to cut this lot when it hadn't been mowed in over a month. The most, now, is 7 days for the toy. And then I went to try and connect the app after turning everything on to see if I could update it in the vague hope that they had actually fixed something. The app had decided to sign itself out and, as I use a pwd manager and didn't want to deal with that crud right now, I took the hint and closed it. I'll have that fun another day... So, all in all, do yourself a favour and look elsewhere. Anywhere else. I wish I had and I wish I had gone gas over these overrated toys. I wish I could return this and get something else. These are just not fit for the intended purpose. Original review: This was only $100 more than the tractor when I bought it. How I wish I had saved the cash and bought the ride on instead. Right out of the gate, the delivery metal frame was damaged on the underside meaning that FedEx had to put it on a pallet under it in order to deliver it. This was a sign of things to come... Great instructions, except for 2 items. They don't explain how you can get it out/off of the frame (let alone how to do it with an extra pallet underneath) if you're on your own (and with more people living alone these days they need to address this and maybe make said frame flat and rely more on the brakes and other packaging) and they don't explain how you can use the lower position for grab bars (I'll cover this). So first the good. It does what it says it does on the tin! Turns on, 3 speed options, 3 blade speed options, lights, steering calibrations, height adjustments, the whole 9 yards... It even cuts grass and stuff and it does it well! Well, sort of... The batteries were great and the supplied charger does the job. In fact the mower could be only thing you need to charge any EGO batteries if you have others as well. The unboxing and assembly instructions are some of the best that I've ever had to follow (outside getting it off the delivery frame. Not letting that one go.). The supplied tools may well have also been useful but who doesn't have a decent ratchet set these days There's even a spare couple of nuts/bolts as well... And now the not so good: Those grab bars foul each other. Meaning if you're not paying attention then you could end up turning into something you were trying to avoid (like that fence, your car or the kerb into the road) and not away from it. Those grab bars can only seemingly be used on the upper setting. There's 2 holes that can be used yet there's metal that stops the lower one from being an option. Because of that, and unless you're supremely confident about how to move it what way, you're going to be on the slowest speed setting for a while until you get used to it. Steering calibration. It went so far to the left that I thought I was off to a DNC meeting (yes, yes, politics. Lighten up there Karen it's a joke). It should be centred from the factory and shouldn't need adjustment (unless you bounced it off the kerb like I did when the grab bars fouled each other). That app! OMFG who programmed that pile of crap. I have the BT on, the GPS on and all the permissions it wants extra on (and who o why does an app want BT, GPS, camera and nearfield if any one of them should work on its own) and it still tells me to turn on my BT connection! My wireless headphones, watch, and speaker all tell me the BT is fine on my phone (and yes, there's no clash as I make sure they're off first before trying the mower again) yet the stupid app can't 'see' BT and I can't connect to the mower. It's also registered via the online portal and that makes no difference to the end result either. Mowing. Unless your grass is bone dry and flat as a pancake be prepared for some brownouts and blade failure. Last week it was dewy wet and had not grown so much and I flew through mowing (well, 'flew' as fast as the slowest speed setting allowed for). This week didn't seem that much different outwardly yet I had to up the blade speed to the fastest speed and it still choked. I ended up having to crawl along in order to stand any chance of the blades keeping on turning. My gas ride on of old (John Deere D140) would have scoffed at such lameness... The batteries. They lie about the range, in the same way the EPA does about a car's 'estimated' MPG figures. My lot is about 0.6 of an acre, slightly sloping towards the back of the property and generally flat otherwise (as in only a couple of small hillucks). Last weekend I went from 100% to 19%, with about 70% of it being chewed up on the back portion alone! I did turn it off and start it up again later, sans the blades, and it reported about 25% but even so. The sticker says 'up to 1.5 acres'. Please to take that claim with a barrel of salt... Where on earth can you recycle the delivery frame? And who has a car big enough to take it all... So this is all a large slice of first world problems. It basically does what it should do, will be finally easy to use once I can figure out the grab handles set up and their configuration and once I can figure out the rough and smooth of the vegetation in order to keep the blades turning. Yet it cost more than cars that some people drive. For that, and that alone, it should be better. No, it should be perfect. I still wish I'd bought the tractor instead. I wonder if EGO does a 1 for 1 exchange program...

Fed X didn't have the right equipment to off load the machine. Not the drivers fault it took him a lot of work to get the lawn mower off the truck and then left it at the bottom of the driveway. it was very hard to get in and out of the driveway with out hitting the machine . Then I had to remove the lawn mower off the metal frame it was sitting on. It took several hours of work. Thank God I had a saw to cut the frame in half. If I new the delivery was going to be so much work I would not have bought it from Amazon
