Straight out of the box, the assembly was easy and intuitive, which made getting started a breeze. The saw feels robust and well-built, inspiring confidence in its durability and longevity. The real strength of the MPS1001 lies in its power. Despite being battery-operated, it doesn't lack in performance. It effortlessly cuts through branches that my old pole saw struggled with, making it a valuable tool for any yard work or pruning needs. Adjusting the length of the pole is straightforward and the overall balance of the saw is commendable. This makes it easier to handle, especially when reaching for those high branches. The 10-inch bar and chain are also capable of handling thicker branches, providing a clean cut every time. One particular feature I appreciate is the battery life. It's long-lasting, allowing me to get a substantial amount of work done on a single charge.     • Great performance. I’ve named it Beast. Great trimmer and will cut thick branches, but heavy.
Pattern Name: Attachment Style: 20-In. Hedge Trimmer & Power Head Kit
I like that it is a multi head tool (PH1400) with a large array of attachments. I purchased the multi tool with the hedge trimmer attachment. The trimmer lives up to it’s claim of cutting 1 inch growth, which is why I call it the Beast. If you don’t want it cut, don’t get it close. It is very maneuverable with dual blade rotation. The blade will rotate to a vertical cutting position or a horizontal position. The blade will also tilt on it’s axis allowing you to easily cut the top of a large shrub, or get behind a wall hugging shrub. If it has any drawbacks, it would be the weight and possibly the battery duration. The Hedge trimmer is definitely heavy. This is necessary in order to have long reach, as well as the ability to cut thick growth. This is not a judgement of the weight, just pointing it out. Because of the weight it performs as advertised. The battery life is adequate, and possibly excellent when changing to slow speed. I have an older Ego blower, which uses the same battery. It’s not that old in terms of hours used, and it’s charge duration has weakened significantly. I understand I can purchase batteries with a higher aH rating, but cost is a definite factor. It would be nice to see some type of battery trade in program for customer retention. In summary, I would definitely purchase again, and recommend to anyone. Neighbors have stopped and asked about when I was trimming the top of an ornamental which is 12 feet high. Granted I was on second rung of a small ladder, but that’s impressive. ... show more

    • Powerful and Convenient

I was really impressed with this trimmer and particularly the edger. I should have bought this a couple years ago. I have been using a gas trimmer and edger for a few years but was getting tired of the maintenance and purchasing fuel for it. When the edger attachment broke this last time I just decided to go with a battery powered one. The only downside to this is the weight, however it is not overbearingly heavy. I have a long driveway and frontage to edge and because my gas edger was down it had been months since I edged it. This edger got to work on it as well if not better than my gas edger would have done. I have only used it for a weekend but the battery life was enough to get the entire job done which is about the equivalent of a tank of fuel mixture for the gas edger. ... show more

I ordered (based on combinations on Amazon) the following EGO products: 2 power heads, pole saw attachment, hedge trimmer attachment, edger attachment, charger, 2.5A & 4A batteries. Some of the products were bundled together. As far as I can tell, these are very well made tools. I did a quick trial with the edger and it seemed to work well. I did trim some hedges (and have more to do) and I can say the hedge trimmer is a beast. I did order a strap to use with the hedge trimmer and I would advise any buying the hedge trimmer to do the same. Registering the products was kinda awkward as the combinations that I bought the tools in didn't seem to show on the webpage for the registration of the products. I ended up sending EGO an email with a Word document with all the serial numbers coupled with JPGs of the invoices from Amazon. I requested them to register them for me based on the EGO account that I has already setup. If you are going to buy these tools, look at combination deals on Amazon. Some decent deals around at least at the moment <G>. When I originally tried to register these tools as the "packages" that I ordered them from Amazon....it couldn't be done. I left VM with EGO Support to call me...this is what they allow to be done.. After leaving my message.....no return call after 2.5 days. Doesn't speak well of EGO Support. Lowered rating to 4 stars. 9/12/2023 - I never did get a return phone call from E-Go customer service...so I would recommend NOT leaving your phone number for a return call and just hang on to your phone call to them. Meanwhile, I have now ordered an E-Go leaf blower from Amazon....I hope that if I need customer service in the future....that E-GO do better! ... show more
