  • It Blows
Style: 765 CFM Blower (NO BATTERY/CHARGER)
I bought this to replace a gas powered blower that died. This is my third Ego yard tool. Started with a lawn mower, next was a line trimmer. They both work better than expected so I thought I'd give this blower a shot. I already had batteries from the other tools so I opted for the 'no battery included' version. So here are my thoughts. Blower power is not a problem. It works as well or better than the gas powered unit it was replacing. It comes with a shoulder strap and you'll probably need it. It uses the standard Ego batteries. All good so far right? So here are the negatives. It's heavy after installing a battery so use the shoulder strap. It also eats power. I use my mower battery when I use the blower. I cut my lawn with a riding mower but I need to do trim work and some steep banks with the Ego mower. The trim work takes about 30 minutes and the battery goes from 5 bars to 3. Put that same battery in the blower and it goes from 5 bars to dead in about the same time. So my routine is now to use the line trimmer battery to power the mower, same battery has enough charge to do the line trimming after mowing. And I use the mower battery to use the blower. Overall I'm very happy with the blower but be sure to match it up with a battery with enough juice to get the job done ... show more

  • I am a gas convert for this!
Style: 765 CFM Blower (NO BATTERY/CHARGER)
I love the internal combustion engine. Two strokes sound and smell awesome, and I probably swore I’d never convert to the pathetic electric stuff. Well, tar and feather me because I’m a convert for this blower. Finally had a belly full of cleaning the carbs and replacing fuel lines on my two Husqvarna gas blowers, and when I borrowed my Dad’s EGO 650 cfm blower I was very surprised how powerful and light it was. That got me checking them out for myself and, being a healthy male, of course I had to buy the biggest baddest strongest one I could find. Pros: This blows way harder than any gas blower I’ve ever owned. This is lighter than most gas blowers, definitely lighter than the ones I own. This is quieter than gas, and obviously is silent the moment you let off the trigger instead of continuing to idle. No more mixing fuel, spilling fuel, cleaning up fuel, cleaning carbs, replacing fuel filters and air filters and hoses. Cons: Cost. The blower itself isn’t cheap, but the batteries…OUCH! Weight - With battery it’s not light, and my 81 year old father can’t carry it for long without the shoulder strap. He loves yard work (no, you can’t borrow him!) so the strap is a necessity for him. I’m a very active 50 and no issue using it till the battery dies. Run time - The 2.5Ah battery gives less than 15 minutes if you’re running at full speed, much less if you use the turbo button a lot. However, if you chill out and run at the speed that moves your leaves & sticks without overdoing it, it lasts about 30 minutes. Dad has the 5.0Ah battery which he says lasts nearly 45 minutes on his 650. I do plan to buy one of those because I want more run time. Overall: Completely happy. I’d have been annoyed at the run time if I hadn’t read these reviews first, but knowing that it wasn’t a shock. I’d have to say get the bigger batteries though. ... show more

  • Best yard tool that I have ever owned.
Style: 600 CFM Backpack Blower (NO BATTERY/CHAR...
I have owned my EGO backpack blower for about 10 months now and I could not be happier with it. It has the power to move massive amounts of material. It used to take many hours over several days to clean up my tree filled yard in the fall. This year it took half a day, and I hardly even touched a rake. This is the best yard tool that I have ever owned. You will need extra batteries if you want to run it for hours on end. The batteries from my other EGO products are swappable so I had that covered. ... show more

  • Read this if you are serious about leaf blowers
Style: 600 CFM Backpack Blower (NO BATTERY/CHAR...
I have a LOT of experience with numerous leaf blowers. Gas blowers are powerful, but noisy, stinky. Electrics, are pretty close now in power and capability, on and off on demand, less noise (but still noisy), no stink. Electrics are either wired, or battery - those that compare with top end gas blowers, are top end 110v wired, or Ego and Stihl make battery powered blowers that will compare with gas. This is not comparable to high end gas. BUT, the stihl blower that is comparable to gas is much more expensive and heavy. The ego that is comparable to gas is the 8000 commercial model and for any respectable battery life, it'll be super heavy on your back and is much more expensive than this. This, is a GREAT leaf blower for the price. It is not so heavy, the weight is well distributed across your back. It is well built. It participates well in Ego's ecosystem. While it won't substitute for a high end gas model, not having a wire following you means, getting around flower beds, or odd areas, or drying your car, or getting grass off the driveway after a cut, or cleaning your garage - it is PERFECT for that. It may not be okay for heavy leaves on wet grass. But that is what the 110V wired blower, gas blower, or a mower is for. Secondly, get a backpack blower. Battery + Blower can get heavy. Unless you use a blower for < 15 min at a time, trust me, you want it on your back, not on your wrist. As a bonus, this is much less noisy than an equivalent competitor model I have replaced it with. ... show more

  • Comfortable backpack blower for heavy battery
Style: 600 CFM Backpack Blower (NO BATTERY/CHAR...
I bought this as a replacement for a failed Ego backpack that was 7 years old. I took the failed one to an authorized repair facility and they said the cost of repairs wasn’t worth it. The new one comes with a 5 year warranty. I wish the old lasted as long as my gas mower which is now 18 years old and going strong. The ego battery is very heavy. I, use it with some other tools and find that with the battery the tools are heavy and hard to use. I chose a backpack over a handheld for the same reason. It does a good job of blowing my leaves; it’s quieter than a gas blower which i hate and it doesn’t pollute. ... show more

  • Works very well and is quiet.
Style: 615 CFM Blower (NO BATTERY/CHARGER)
This blower had more power than we expected it to and is light enough for my 80 year old husband to use for clearing grass off our driveway. We now have the ego lawn mower, weed wacker and blower and love them all. Easy and quiet to use!

  • Awesome blower
Style: 765 CFM Blower (NO BATTERY/CHARGER)
Very strong blower. I was surprised, it came with a shoulder strap and a fan tip in addition to the photos. Very pleased so far. I'm running with the 7.5Ah battery. It goes a long time.
