Machine arrived by 18 wheeler. It's was in a sturdy metal crate that weighed over 700 pounds. So, if you order this from Amazon be prepared for that. Truck driver will hand dolly it where he can but that's probably limited by terrain. Follow printed instructions and it'll explain how to drive it off the crate. (some assembly required prior). Took me about 1.5 hours. Batteries arrived with a 25% charge. After fully charging the batteries I cut the 3 acre field around the house. The Machine did superb. I'm very pleased. It's more sensitive to slight control movements that my old John Deer zero turn but after about 20 mins I was used to that...so no big deal. The field I mow is no sissy lawn. Ground is a little rough and there are some serious weeds. It cut'm like butter. Easy to adjust cutting height too. My only complaint is with the App. I haven't go it to work yet. Says it wants my email account password and that ain't gonna happen. It's confusing doesn't work no matter what password you try. ... show more

    • A good mower, but I would rather of had a similar tractor which was not an option.

I have only had it for a few weeks, but so far it is very good with a couple of short-comings. The seat is too low, and I don't see any adjustment for height. I am not unusually tall at 6', but I have a hard time standing up because I am so low down. The power and speed are great, but the steering will take time to get used to. It would be nice if it was adjustable, since it requires a very light touch when turning. I have to drive it on the lowest speed to avoid having accidents. The brake pedal is in an awkward position, which combined with the tricky steering makes it a bit dangerous. I would also prefer a separate gas pedal, again because of the steering issues. Finally, last year's model came with 12Amp batteries, and this only came with 10Amp batteries. The 12Amp should have been offered as an option. Mine is rated at 3 acres, but that must be for level lawns. Mine is at a bit of a slope and I only had 20% battery remaining after cutting my 1.5 acres. On a more positive note, it so silent running without the blades. I still use ear plugs with the blades running, but much quieter than my gas tractor. The cut is also much cleaner than my gas powered tractor for some reason. I was also able to haul a small trailer full of logs with no problem. I would have rather had a tractor, but the EGO models did not have a wide cutting deck or hold many batteries. In summary, I would have rather had a tractor for seating position and handling, but it is way better than my gas tractor. ... show more

    • Lots of good, only one draw back on the EGO 52" mower

If I could, I would give this mower a 4.5 rating. I've mowed with it twice now and here are my thoughts: The Good: This thing mows like a champ. Thick grass that would have killed my old gas riding mower is no problem for the EGO. Functionally it works great, no issues. I have other EGO products and this one lives up to the expectations that I have for the company's products. The Bad: I have less than 2 acres that I mow. I bought the 10 amp/hr model because it said that it would do up to 3 acres on a single charge. Well, that maybe true if you do the lowest power setting for everything. After mowing a couple times, I found out that if I put the wheel drive on medium power and blades on low power, I can barely mow my entire yard. Low setting for blades has no issues cutting normal length grass. If I had known the battery issue, I would have bought the 12 amp/hr model instead. Overall: This mower does a great job so far and I hope to get many years out of it. I just wish the battery life issue was better advertised so folks like me can buy the proper model. ... show more

I bought this 52 inch zero turn mower by EGO for my daughter and son-in-law, who have a large property at their home. I chose this mower since I purchased a 42 inch zero turn by EGO about three or four years ago and it has been absolutely fantastic. Everything about this machine is well thought out and works perfectly. It mulches extremely well when wanted and I also have the bagger which does an excellent job of lifting grass and leaves to the bags in the rear of the machine. The batteries have been holding up very well lasting as long as advertised. I can do my entire property with 50% power remaining. And since I have solar, charging it and using this mower is virtually free for me. I can now easily cut my grass every four or five days instead of waiting a full week for a landscaper to come. As a result, my grass always looks good. in addition, I have never had to make any adjustments to the machine at all. It cut smoothly and perfectly level every time. I highly recommend the ego zero turn mower. I also have their smaller self propelled push mower, their string trimmer, power blower, and hedge trimmer, all of which worked beautifully using the same batteries. ... show more

So far mower operating good. Handles come in to far and reach each other but after 2 uses getting better at handling. Blades have overloaded about 5 times so far on first time using. The mower came in large metal box on pallet and another box of batteries delivered with a semi trailer truck.

Loving this machine. I live on the Apalachican Mountains in West Virginia on some pretty steep acres. Ego could make a pretty good commercial for mowing on this land. It preforms well. Please use low motor speed going down steep enbackments unless you like going to the emergency room The charge held well and this is a great mowing machine ... show more

    • Love the battery mower, but there are a few drawbacks to me.

The mower feels well built and solid, time will tell how well it holds up. So much quieter than my John Deere Zero Turn. Big thumbs up. The adjustable blade speed is very handy, and on Max setting will power through thick grass. The charger is a drawback for me. It is slow to charge, we are talking hours to fully charge. And the charger is not waterproof. It says not to mount in wet or damp locations. (Like the side of my house in Washington State). Traction is also weak, The mower gets stuck in mud quite easily. Deeper tread tires would have been a good idea. ... show more
