  • Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades, not incubators
There are some good, and mostly bad things to say about this unit Good: The egg turning method is optimal, the thermostat and humidity sensor is a decent one (even if it's placed in a spot that makes it not very useful for temp sensing), and it's affordable That's where the good things end First, they break... constantly. The control unit burned out on the second of them mid incubation. I'm on day 17 of a quail hatch, hours away from being done and it burns out.... killing all the chicks Second, the lid is too short, placing the heating elements too close to the eggs making the heat distribution uneven, leading to birth defects in chicks from eggs in an EXACT SQUARE PATTERN underneath where the heater wires are.... so... no mystery there I attempted to solve this by placing a spacer that kept the whole thing sealed, but lifted the lid off the eggs. No more birth defects, but it still broke this company is SO CLOSE. This product just needs some refinements, but as it stands I DO NOT recommend this incubator to anybody If I were still inside the return window I would return both units... as It stands I'll probably tear them apart and try to build my own incubator cabinet using the parts with an raspberry pi as the brain ... show more

  • Did great!
I used this to hatch out Call Duck eggs which are apparently very difficult. I had a 100% hatch! On time and healthy. Very easy to use, efficient. VERY pleased.

  • Seems to work!

  • Might be too good to be true
Overall I have purchased 8 of these this year since the price was so low. I got 3 identical ones from a different brand last year around black friday and they have been absolute workhorses. These…..not so much. Returning one right away since it cooked a dozen expensive hatching eggs. The temp got all the way up to 132 and it dumped the entire water reservoir into the incubator. I was hoping this was a one off, but I’m starting to see other inconsistencies with the other ones. ... show more

  • Works Perfectly!
This is a great and convenient incubator for someone like me who is only running a small operation in the city. I used the one I got to raise a dozen coturnix quail and it very quickly raised them in no time before they were hatching and making noise. The big egg baskets work great too for rotating the eggs and keeping them moving. Of the different style of egg turning devices I think I like this style the best with individual baskets for your rows of eggs. The baskets cradle your eggs and evenly roll them around and keep them from being in one spot for too long as well as keeping the eggs inside their basket. The humidity and temp controls are great too and work as expected, the temp reading is off by about 2 degrees but that's okay. I really like the option to run the incubator off a 12v battery instead of plugging into the wall, not only could I use it off-grid but here in California I'll almost definitely need it during a power outage. All in all this is a great little incubator for a small operation in the city, the build quality and features are perfect for turning out some birds and given the price of eggs lately I know lots of people who will be asking for a bird or two of their own. ... show more

  • Humidifier doesn’t work
I have ordered TWO of these. I thought the first may have just been defective. The “humidifier” doesn’t work on either one. Super frustrating

  • Hatching net
In the box there was a thin piece of mesh that appears to go into the incubator day 19, on top of what they call the hatching net, to help prevent splay leg. It’s not pictured in the ad or shown in the instruction booklet that I saw. This was rather complicated to set up. So far it seems to be holding a steady temperature and humidity. The water tubes are very soft and easily bent but so far I’m not having any issues with the water pump. I set it on top of a seedling heat mat to help reduce temperature fluctuations. One of the egg trays kept popping out of place but after tinkering with it, it seems to be working fine now. I feel like this is over priced for the number of eggs you can hatch in it. Update: less than 24 hours later. The pump is not operating properly. You can pull the tubing out and use the bottle to fill the water reservoirs without opening the lid. ... show more

  • A Little Pricey but Works Okay
I wouldn't put this at the top of the list of incubators that we've used on our land in the past. But it's far from the worst. It certainly works as far as the turning and maintaining a steady temperature. I did feel like considering the build and materials that it may have been priced about twenty bucks higher than I might otherwise expect. But we'll continue to use it, given it works fine. ... show more
