It has everything i needed and wanted in an incubator, but one key factor is missing. Theres NO ability for calibration of temps or RH. The built-in readers are off by up to 5 degrees and RH is off up to 10% so the incubator only goes to 75% RH MAX. Which is actually 65% if your eggs require 65% + you're out of luck. And a 5 degree temperature difference can destroy the whole process. The most important part does not work, which is disappointing because it had everything else is wanted ... show more

    • Holds steady temp and humidity, easy to use and clean
I am getting prepared to order and hatch some goose eggs this coming spring, and decided to get a new incubator. The two others I have had have been very difficult to keep at a stable temp/humidity level, and were difficult to clean. I did a trial run for 2 days to see how well it did at keeping temp and humidity, and I was thoroughly impressed! It held at exactly 100.4F and 65% humidity the whole time! Near the end of the 2 days, I removed the tube that water is pumped through to regulate humidity, and the alarm sounded when the humidity dropped to 55%. This is a great feature to alert you to a sudden change which could kill the developing embryos if neglected too long. I really like that they engineered the foam packaging to be a functional insulated jacket for the incubator, if you want to save a little energy and/or to buffer fluctuating external temperatures. This is one foam packing material you don't want to throw away! The clear polycarbonate top makes it very easy to see the whole interior of the incubator. I didn't notice any fogging up during the 2 days it was running. The only slight critique I have is that the water bottle that the draw tube goes into for humidity doesn't have a cap. I think a cap with a hole for the tube would keep dirt and bugs out of the bottle. It is also a little awkward to find a spot to sit the bottle and tube beside the incubator without it being prone to accidentally bumping. It would be great to have a little holder on the side that keeps it stable. ... show more
