  • Solid budget buy
First off... this is my first incubator so I don't have anything to compare it to. Pretty simple setup, and easy to use. We were hatching chicken eggs- and followed the directions. We were able to fit 10 eggs well, 11 eggs were cramped but we fit it in (had an abandoned, viable egg we squeezed in). Now that we're hatching, here are my observation: Obviously functional as an incubator, we are hatching! It turns the eggs as it should. We didn't temp check but all our eggs have developed So I'm assuming temperature was correct. The canceling light is **** .... don't even bother. Get a super bright, not hot light and you'll be infinity happier. Can't see anything with their little light. It's **really** cramped tho. Really, you probably shouldn't do a dozen eggs to really make it thru the hatching. In the future, I won't do more than 6 at a time. Maybe 8 to account for any losses. BUT, we did incubate 11, an 10 eggs made it to devlopment. We've had 4 chicks hatched with 0 problems, 1 passed while hatching and 2 quit developing fairly early and then 3 made it almost to the end. I attribute the 4 lost at the end due to over crowding. I think starting off with fewer would lead to higher success rate. The chicks that hatched are happy and healthy. Also, regarding being cramped- the chicks don't have the ability to stand up properly. They're squished down kinda which may cause issues, not sure. We've been removing the chicks once they fluff up to a brooder, and they seem to get their mobility infinity quicker than ones we've kept in the incubator longer. Overall, really happy with the buy considering the price point- would have been 5 stars with a little bit taller design (even just 1/2 inch would make a huge difference) and canceling light (but I don't think any of them have a good canceling light). So yea- if you're on a budget and want to hatch some eggs I'd say buy it. ... show more

  • Not great
We’ve been hatching chicken and duck eggs on and off for about 10 years with various incubators. We’ve now tried two batches of 4 duck eggs each and we’ve only had 1 of the 8 ducklings successfully hatch. That’s pretty awful! The majority made it to Day 27 or Day 28 and then died. I just think the lack of ventilation and inconsistent temperatures make this incubator not worth purchasing. We even purchased a separate thermometer / hygrometer and monitored things that way and still had very low success. We haven’t changed what we do so I’m thinking the machine is the issue. If you have the money, just spend a little more money and get one that actually works. ... show more

  • Not Temp Accurate, Hard to Maintain Humidity
This is somewhat easy to use in that the setup is easy. BUT the temperature is not held consistent and the temperature it is set at is not the temperature in the incubator. I set mine to 98 and the temp ranged from 97-100. I confirmed this with three thermometers. It is also very hard to maintain humidity levels as you cannot see how much water is in the bottom once the eggs are in. My display screen filled with water once I raised the humidity to 70%. Also, fun fact, the instructions tell you to run this little bad boy enclosed in the packing styrofoam if the ambient temp is less than 65 degrees. I found it didn’t accurately maintain temperature inside or outside of the styrofoam. ... show more

  • I’ve not had my first hatch….BUT
The set up was easy enough. I am in the middle of my first hatch so I don’t know the outcome yet. Adding water to the bottom tray for humidity is extremely awkward. The egg tray frame sits freely on a plastic mesh screen that separates the eggs from the water reservoir underneath. The water reservoir has five channels to put the water in. You add different amounts of water to the channels at various stages of incubation. A squeeze bottle is provided for adding the water. The problem is I can’t tell how much water is going into each channel without lifting the plastic mesh and egg tray. Also, there are no handles for removing the plastic mesh which puts the eggs in jeopardy if you’re not careful removing the mesh. If there’s an easier way to do this, I haven’t figured it out. I would not buy this incubator again. ... show more

  • Easy to use
All I did was plug it in amd it was all set to go. The only thing I didn't know was how much water to put in. The instructions did not say. This was my first time ever incubating eggs and out of 9, 6 hatched!!! This is definitely perfect for newbies!!! Just don't over think it.

  • Poor design
There is nothing I like about this product. Temperature is wrong, humidity is difficult to control. Keeping the eggs in correct position so they actually rotate instead of scoot is a pain. Babies cannot stay in long or they will get squished by the rotator. I have had to help numerous eggs hatch.
