  • Great chipper
Size: 4 inch Max Capacity - C40
This chipper makes quick work of anything I've thrown at it. Reasonably priced for a 4" capable machine (although at 4" I prefer to save those pieces to burn in my fireplace or pit). Product support from the company has been excellent where needed. I'm not disappointed that I spent the extra money for the 4" over the 3" model. Only lost 1 star for ease of assembly as the instructions could use a rewrite to eliminate the guesswork. ... show more

  • Great Machine
Size: 20: 1 Reduction Ratio - C30
I have used this chipper for two months, a couple of hour per week. I have filled 50 to 60 30 gallon trash cans of chips. Easy start every time. Great chipping. With larger branches feed slower to prevent stopping the engine. Check the bolts for tightness after using for a while. Wear long sleeves gloves, and a hat with a face guard to prevent scratches or cuts. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a chipper. Less expensive than renting for an extended period. ... show more

  • Blades don’t last long
Size: 4 inch Max Capacity - C40
Engine is strong and easy to start. Instructions are vague and it takes some time to learn how to replace the blades for the first time. Yes the thin side does open to access the back side of the blades. Instructions are not clear. The first replacement, the screws are torqued down pretty tight. Will take some extra effort. Instructions require you to own a torque wrench for the reinstallation of the blades. Once you purchase the chipper the guide will tell you a new blade set will only last 1 - 3 hours of use. Which is about accurate. I have been able to sharpen the existing blades, unfortunately haven’t figured out the right grinding angle to make them as sharp when bought new. Overall it does the job well. Just allow additional time in project estimation for blade replacement. ... show more

  • Great and safe chipping
Size: 4 inch Max Capacity - C40
Very pleased with my purchase. Assembly was straight forward, instructions were not terrible to follow. Engine started up on third pull after adding oil and fuel. Smaller limbs, think 2" and under, the chipper goes through with ease. Closer to the max 4" and you will need to be patient. The larger pieces when shorter will bounce around inside the hopper but eventually will get through it. As you can expect with an open motor this size it is loud so protect your ears. The exhaust is right under the adjustable discharge chute which can blow the chips around, so wear eye protection too! Sturdy and heavy, but well balanced and maneuverable. One thing I'd recommend is adding a drop of thread lock on the two small bolts at the top of the discharge chute (pre installed) as they will vibrate their way out and into your pile of chips. Overall I'd recommend this chipper. ... show more

  • Very disappointed
Size: Compact & Powerful - C30 Lite
It seemed fair to first write to the company to give them an opportunity to respond before posting a public review; but I never heard back from them, so here's my POV. It doesn't even come close to what the manufacturer claims it is capable of doing. We got this unit primarily to grind oak leaves as mulch for our yard; but there are occasional limbs and branches that fall from our 200-year-old oak tree, so also being able to chop limbs up to 3 inches into mulch sounded perfect. But alas, we spent a few hundred dollars to accomplish none of this. The unit starts and runs smoothly, but that's about it. To avoid jamming the feeding chute with dry leaves, I needed to feed one handful of leaves at a time and then wait for them to flow down the chute to be mulched before gently sprinkling the next handful into the chute. These were dry leaves without any limbs, branches or clumps mixed in; and every time I tried scooping up leaves with both hands and placing them in the chute (think a small bucket of loose, dry leaves), I needed to use a stick to poke and mix them up until they fed all the way through the mulcher. In the end, it took more than one hour to successfully mulch a pile of leaves it would've taken me about 10 minutes to bag up. As for limbs - this unit absolutely cannot handle a branch or limb up to 3 inches in diameter. In fact, just to mulch a dry limb that was less than 1 inch wide and about 3 feet long, took a few minutes and I needed to keep firm pressure on the limb as the unit slowly nibbled away at the limb. I tried using it a second time, varying the throttle speeds, using dry leaves, but had the same results; so we haven't used it since and spent the next few weeks bagging our oak leaves. Having not heard from the company about our concerns, we thought about selling it, but that would just upset the buyer when they discover they wasted their money, so we left it out by the curb and within a couple of hours, someone took home a free mulcher/grinder in mint condition on which they didn't waste their money. ... show more

  • Maneuverable
Size: 20: 1 Reduction Ratio - C30
Assembly photos could be slightly better and may have obviated a mistake I made of mounting the wheel structure perfectly backwards. I soon recognized the problem of having the CG on the wrong side of the axle, reversed it and all was fine. One warning though, unlike my bigger chipper where reaching down the chute still kept the blades out of reach (admittedly not a good thing to do) and harms way, this chute is shorter and one could get into serious trouble. Bottom line, don’t reach it more than a hand length. The handles on the chute allow for easy maneuverability but the hard tires, while resisting wear and flats, also resist rolling on uneven, rock and stick strewn ground. I expect at some point to replace them with pneumatic tires which flex around such obstacles. I have had to exchange blades (picking up a pile of sticks also picked up a small quartz rock which did chip the blades as would be expected. Taking off the chute and the access panel in back allowed full, relatively convenient access to the blade screws and nuts and thus changing the blades was not difficult. I look forward to using it soon again. ... show more
