Red wire = Positive Black wire = Negative Although I got the correct battery, my touch lamp did not fire up because the polarity was reversed. So I flipped the polarity by gently lifting the wire terminal tabs on the terminal plug and swapping the wires. Voila! Easy peasy adjustment. This battery seems to work fine and has the right connections. It was just a little thicker than I expected. With a little customization to the toy robot it worked, and the toy seems to work. Not sure how to tell if the battery is fully charged. Probably not a battery problem rather a toy problem.
