Have a 18ft. G3 semi-V hull center console with 115hp Yamaha. I fish 2 or 3 times a week on Toledo Bend Reservoir and need a reliable set-up. I have used the 70lb. thrust Edge without any problems so far. I have had the unit for 2 years and have no complaints.

The product is fine. The vendor is a complete rip off. I received the motor and I opened the box and measured to see if it would fit. It did not. I returned it and was charged 185.00 re stock fee. Now do you think I will order another trolling motor from them or Amazon. NO!!!

Udate after 3 yrs of use....performs well but difficult to lower and retrieve. Very heavy to handle. Plenty of power and has performed perfectly. Had the prop shaft pin sheer off but easily replaced it with a modified cotter pin. The foot operation works fine. Just takes a lot of practice to use it without looking. Only complaint is that raising and lowering takes two hands because the foot (propeller end) tends to rotate upon lowering and raising forcing me to keep it lined up with the foot pedal. Had this a few years now works great ! Speed 5 will knock people off the boat because it's all or nothing so you have to reach down and slowly speed up is the only reason for the 4 star and not 5

    • MK IS THE WORSE!!

Biggest POS trolling motor I have ever had the opportunity to own. First off, $499.00 USD and the speed control unit in the head is dead right out of the box. Call MK customer service and nothing but a big run around on the issue, told to take a BRAND NEW trolling motor to a repair shop for diagnosis and fix. Repair man even agreed MK should honor their warranty and replace entire unit with a new one being as they would have to remove with heat the lower unit a which were this part is inside the re seal upon change out of part. By no means a easy job along with the risk that the new sealant mat not adhere properly. The repair guy was even nice enough to call MK customer service and explain that this was not and should not be a part that goes out telling them it had to get by QC and shipped out dead as it was. Well all to no avail, MK s customer service pretty much told him to bad, fix it or for me to take it to a different shop. What a joke. Bad enough this shop was over 1 hour away as it was and I would be making trips to drop off and pick up once MK actually sent him the new part to fix it. Now here I am a season later and drop in the lake to fish and the motor deploy release rope fails to release the locking pins to deploy motor off deck. Actually had to unscrew clamp that holds motor,pull entire shaft off deck bracket to relieve the pressure enough as to get the locking pins to release and the re attach shaft to bracket so I could fish. Have no idea why this mechanism has failed no being the entire set up has been in the water only 4 times since purchase. MK has really gone down hill over the years and the 1000s of horror stories online concerning all types of their motors and the terrible Customer Service that come with buying their products. I can assure you I will be replacing this POS with a competitor asap. I can only hope this review gets seen by many more that are in the market for a trolling motor.
