We try to cook all our meals and save leftovers in containers. I also use containers for my lunches to bring to work. For the sake of our fridge efficiency and now the bamboo lids we really try to wait and allow the food to cool off before putting the lid on and then moving it from the kitchen counter to the fridge. Also I originally tried to clean the lids in the top rack of my dishwasher even though I think I read the product description said to hand wash. They started to warp a little after a few washes so I switched to hand wash. Honestly they only take 2 seconds to clean and then I lay them upright in my drying rack. Easy. I found it not worth it to use the plug as a steam release like some plastic lids have. If there’s that much steam the bamboo lid will likely warp. Good news is if this happens you can lay it flat under something heavy. Mine have straightened out! As an environmental advocate I’m trying to stop purchasing plastic so I’m very happy to have found this product and begin transitioning my food containers to non plastic materials. If you have any trouble with your product don’t hesitate to contact the seller. I had found one of my containers in the fridge had split down the middle! It was a whole thing of cooked rice that we had to throw out. Bummer! But this business happily spoke with me and sent a replacement. I was so appreciative and it made me feel they really stand behind their product quality. Also there’s zero plastic in their packaging/shipment. I love these containers. I did have some difficulty with a couple lids warping (I didn't get them wet, but I think they must have warped when I closed them up with some hot food inside), and one cracked. I contacted the company and I got an immediate and personal reply. The woman who owns the company was so friendly and easy to deal with and replaced my lids, no questions asked. I do need to be more careful with avoiding any issues that might cause warping in the future, but the containers are worth it since they are so eco-friendly, and I love supporting a small, family business! ... show more

I really want to get away from plastic, so I was excited to order these glass food containers with bamboo tops and silicone seals. I regret to report that they are totally dysfunctional. The lids warp. One broke when I was pushing it in place and I had to crazy glue it (photo). They all leak, requiring me to use rubber bands. Note, I have never put the lids in the dishwasher. I have had these for about 2-3 months. I clean them by hand and let them air dry on my counter. One of the bamboo tops bowed, so it no longer seals on the glass container. The others seem fine, but now I'm wondering if the other bamboo tops are going to bow as well.
