I used this on my gas stove, which heats my enclosed porch. It has a thermostatic control, but when the batteries died, the stove wouldn't shut off. It got so hot that it almost started a fire. I decided that I needed to add this temperature controller to cut power if the temperature reaches the desired setting. I have only used for 2 days but so far it works for my purpose. I use it to turn my torpedo heater on and off when I'm working in my pole barn. My heater has a thermometer but is very inaccurate and does not do the job. I turn the thermostat all the way up on the heater and leave the on / off switch on and let this thermostat control the on and off. The settings seem relatively accurate but I adjust to my comfort preference. This is not digital, sometimes it seems to vary a few degrees with when it turns on and off. It does not have a live temperature reading which I would have liked. For me it does what I need it to do and at a reasonable cost. ... show more

Good for both heating and cooling plus has a relatively low setpoint which is beneficial for limiting heating in unoccupied areas. Switch to set heating or cooling is very tight and hard to reset.

When these work, they're great. It's nice there's not another component that you have to place somewhere else in the room. These are VERY simple to set up and use. We're in Florida, so they didn't get as much use as they might have in other areas of the country. I bought these in Feb 2022. In Jan 2023, two stopped working. One stopped turning off when the room reached temperature. It ran the heater constantly. Another melted at the plug in. Fortunately, we smelled it before it got critical. Admittedly, that particular space heater was old. I can't say for sure if it was the thermostat plug-in or the heater. If they lasted longer, I'd give more stars. ... show more
