Exactly what I needed to control the airflow and temperature in my greenhouse. Just plugged my fan in set the temperature on the plug and it turns the fan on and off as the temperature rises and falls in the greenhouse.

I bought this to regulate the temperature in my garage/shop. I use plug in electric heaters to maintain 75 deg F when I am painting or gluing things in my well insulated 1100 sf shop. This thermostat allows me to set a specific temperature set point. The portable oil filled heaters have a built in rheostat to individually turn up or down the temperature output but you need a good thermometer and several hours to find and adjust the setting that give you the right results. With these Econohome Adjustable Thermostats , just turn the the heaters on full blast and plug them each into an Adjustable thermostat set at the temperature you want, and as long as you have enough heaters and BTU output available, they will maintain the temperature in the vicinity of the thermostat, at the temperature at which you set them. If you don't, have enough total BTUs, They will do their best with what you've got and just run all the time. There is no cheaper way to heat a shop. Be advised if you produce significant levels of explosive fumes THESE THERMOSTATS ARE NOT EXPLOSION PROOF. They have electrical contacts which could ignite explosive fumes as do most adjustable heaters. If you are working with explosive solvents or fiberglass and epoxy resins, this is probably not the solution for you. For that type of hazard i recommend working outside in summer. or inside of a really big shop with an explosion proof hydronic heating system and 20-30 Air Changes / Hour of outside tempered fresh makeup air, wear protective clothing, and a gas mask with appropriate filters for the types of fumes/solvent your using.

Their product last a very short time and when a request was made to the company for a solution they cast off their responsibility to others. They don’t stand by their product...many reviews say these overheat and malfunction. Mine entirely failed. I do not recommend purchasing this item.

I'm using this EconoHome Adjustable Thermostat in my RV Trailer near the upper bunk to regulate the temperature in the sleeping area during the winter. I'm using a contractor grade extension cord between this thermostat, which is plugged into an 120v outlet near the ceiling and the space heater which I have on the floor. The thermostat easily handles the 1500 W of the heater and doesn't get warm during operation. There is an audible click when the thermostat changes between the states of on and off, but is about the same noise level as the heater and doesn't bother me. I really like the indicator light, which indicates three states 1) illuminating either Red or Green for the SWITCH being on, and the unit being plugged in; 2) illuminating Red, power is not being provided to the thermostat's receptacle; 3) illuminating Green, power is provided to the thermostat's receptacle. As a note of troubleshooting, if the thermostat has a green light but the space heater is not putting out heat, check the temperature setting on the heater ;) The markings for temperature are more of an approximate range than a precise set point. I have the round knob at 77 degrees but the thermometer next to it variates between 68 and 72 degrees, so I adjust the knob to my comfort regardless of the temperature setting markings. In my attached picture you will see that I have two of these thermostats, one off and the other on, so I can control the temperature at both ends of the trailer without moving cords. I have only one switched on at any time due to the circuit being 15 amps and both heaters being on at the same time would trip the circuit breaker. Since I have two, you can see that I really like this product. 5 STARS!!!!!

This thermostat can be used for heating or cooling, which I use it for to control a window fan. The factory setting is for heat & there is a miniscule slide switch to move for cooling. I had to use a headlight & magnifying glasses to find the switch & a small glasses screwdriver to move it to the right. Even then I didn't know if I had it right until I plugged it in. I gave it a 3* rating because it was so hard to change. Regarding accuracy, run your device & use a different thermometer to see where it controls to. After that change setting in small increments until desired temp is met. It's quite repeatable so it should control well to that temp.
