  • This thing is a beast!
Color: 52cc Set A
This thing is a beast! I am currently building a fence for my backyard. Over an acre and approx 80 something posts. My home is fairly new construction and my property has a ton of fill with an unbelievable amount of rocks. Out of all the holes I've drilled I only had 2 total where I did not hit any rocks and this thing dug right down to the top of the bit in under 30 seconds. Of course one of those 2 holes was the first hole I dug, every other hole pretty much sucked. That being said, even with the rocks (average softball size) it pretty much plucked them right up to the surface. There were times this thing threw me when the bit caught between 2 larger rocks I couldn't see. I'd recommend 2 people if digging in rocky soil. I did break a 6" bit on about hole 60 something but I can not blame the quality at all. I caught the back side of 2 boulders on my retaining wall. It threw my good and I took the power head with me when I went for my ride lol. I have 0 regrets buying this. Knowing what I know now this job woulda been awful digging with a pick and shovel. It pretty much sucked as it was but definitely a time saver. If you live in an area without rocks and boulders I'd highly recommend it, makes digging poles a breeze. Just ordered a new 6" bit because the larger one it came with is nearly impossible to break thru more then 10" because of the rocks. Overall this was a great purchase! ... show more

  • Inexpensive but Pretty Good Quality
Color: 52cc Set A
First of all, the Instruction manual sucks. They should really have someone that speaks English as hi/her native language at least review the manuals. The English is terrible, even by Chinese standards. Once you get by the manual, the machine works great. A few problems initially starting but I believe that relates to the terrible manual. The soil here in New Hampshire is extremely rocky so, as expected, it definitely slams you around some when it hits rocks. They don't call NH the Granite State for no reason. I drilled many holes and it functioned perfectly other than the shock treatment when you hit rocks. I am 80+ years old but stilled had no difficulty using it alone. It was well packaged and no shipping damage resulted. This auger will work great in soil that is not made up mostly of rocks, but even in the rocky NH ground it did very well. I highly recommend it for an inexpensive homeowners type device. If you have hundreds of holes to drill. a 3 point hitch type would be much better, ... show more

  • It's a beast
Color: 52cc Set A
This is a sturdy machine. It bores through the dirt with ease. It is not an easy machine to hang onto, but it isn't all that difficult either if you are standing firm and have a good grip. This machine will make holes in seconds if you have nice soil to work with. But if you have soil like me which is rocky, then you have to be careful, the auger will grab that rock and stop spinning and transfer that spinning energy to the machine and try to throw you. That is why I never run this machine at full speed. It is one of the faults of this machine, not having a reverse. It is not a deal breaker though. I still highly recommend this product. ... show more

  • Good for softer soil
Color: 52cc Set A
Unit is not heavy duty by no means but it works if you have sandy soils I do know that . Had a couple issues with unit but seller was quick to resolve them . I have done 17 10” holes so far but have 40 to go. I have noticed one thing when you hit roots it don’t want to chew through them like I said sandy soil ok but hard soil not so great . I will update you all later as I have some more to do. ... show more

  • Great post hole auger
Color: 52cc Set A
I was skeptical about the quality of this unit because of the price point. However, it is a nice powerful unit that will put a 6 inch hole in the ground in just a few seconds. Like any other auger it will catch and give you a good twist if you hit a rock or root. The only knock I have on the unit is that the first time I cranked it I had a screw fall out. I replaced and put locktight on the others and checked tightness. It has worked fine to install a fence around my pool at a price that was probably less than renting. ... show more

  • Makes For Easy Work So Far
Color: 52cc Set A
Dug 20 - 10 inch holes in less than an hour for a hedge of Privets. Our lot is 'VERY' rocky. Be aware, this will rip right out of your hands when you hit an obstacle such as a rock. if you do not give the job your full attention (as you should with any power tool!) Well worth the money. The augers seem to be well built. Have not had a chance to long term test. ... show more

  • Good purchase read my review before purchasing
Color: 52cc Set A
53 full depth holes in 6 hours in root infested red Georgia clay worked very well. What didn't like is the motor mount bolts falling out in the first fifteen minutes I would strongly recommend the use of Loctite on all the mounting bolts before use! Also the large auger bit is almost unusable with one person on hard packed ground. Overall it did exactly what it was supposed to do! ... show more
