I was using my smart phone which is okay but, I would have to usually plug it in. Listening to Sirius XM it would drain the battery some plus talking on the phone etc. Since I got Echo Show 8 it makes everything in my office easier. Keeps track of my appointments, events, schedule, gives weather forecast, and even looks things up for me just asking a question. It's like having a secretary or assistant. I even do video meetings with this. I can see my members and being in a briefing or meeting room. There's so much you can do with this. I read the reviews regarding the newer versions and from what I learned they continuously keep showing advertisements. Echo Show 8 does not which is a plus in my book.

Love having this in my home office for everything. I can see who’s at the door, get all sorts of updates, all the Alexa enabled stuff, play music, get weather and news alerts and all sorts of things. The screen size is perfect.

The Echo Show 8 is simple, listens fairly well, and intelligently adjusts the image brightness for the room. It works well enough that we keep one in our bedroom, and its screen dims well at night so that it is not distracting. The worst part about any voice assistant is when it ignores commands or interprets the wrong command. This unit does surprisingly well, unlike the terrible Echo Show 10, and only occasionally misinterprets or ignores a command, usually when the environment is a bit noisy. We do not use the Echo Show 8 for music often, but for a small, inexpensive screen whose primary purpose is as a voice assistant, the audio quality is fine. It probably sounds better than most Bose speakers, and is comparable to a high-quality laptop speaker like those in a Microsoft Surface Pro or Powerbook.

We got 2 Echo Shows this year - a 15 for our home and an 8 for my parents. I set up their Show 2 nights ago and it was very easy. Last night we did a video chat that also worked very well. Today I’m going over to set up their Ring camera with it so they can answer the door from their living room/kitchen and to look at setting up Alexa Together. I appreciate the extra safety and security having Alexa/Ring video devices gives as for assisting aging family members. If you are not in need of a screen as large as the 15, the 8 does an excellent job. I recommend either one.

This stand is magnetic and gives your clock enough motion to face down when your laying next to your alarm clock. I use my alarm clock to watch Netflix on my side of the bed. But it was tilted up. I needed something that helps it tilt. This did the job perfectly.

We use this Echo display in our kitchen for recipes, music, and videos while we cook, clean-up, or during casual meals, We love that it tells us the time and current weather per our settings. We like to use it as the "master" to sync our other echo devices to music as we move from the kitchen to the dining and living rooms where the family and guests gather while waiting to eat. The display is large enough to watch videos and easily scroll through recipes. We have also used it to locate and talk to family members in other parts of the house as we have an Echo in nearly every room and even on the covered porch.
