I have a larger Echo how in my living room and an Echo Dot in my exercise room. This Echo Show 8 is in my bedroom. I bought this Echo Show at a very good price. I use it mainly to listen to Pandora and to track sports and weather information. Very easy to set up and use. For its size, it has very good sound quality. It is very sturdy and well built.

So convenient when I'm cooking or washing dishes I can keep watching Netflix or YouTube. Plus I use Alexa as a timer bc I bake a lot. Whatever apps you have on your phone or TV you will also have ion your Echo Show. I love it.

So just got the Echo show 8, A great piece of kit, well built and brilliant workmanship but definitely limited in its current capabilities. I find myself at times not knowing whether I want to swipe down or swipe right, to find a usable menu. Once the user interface section has been accessed the flow and user ability gets better, but still leaves a lot to be desired. I bought the Echo show 8 as a screen to show My ring doorbell on, and for that it works wonders. But in terms If it’s overall usefulness I have to question the interface. If you’re using it as a device that gets glanced at every 5-10mins for the latest news scoop , weather update, or time. It does a good job of that. But anything over and above that and I am left wanting more. Navigating to silk can sometimes seem cumbersome, unless voice commands are used, the Smart Home Screen and what fees like an infinite scroll could use a lot of work. Certainly a grid like feature or the ability to customise these tabs would make a massive improvement. The rooms feature here is nice, as it gathers functions, but still a lot to be improved upon. The media/music section could be better. It could open up a world of possibilities here, to select and steam at the touch of button to multiple devices, selected via Toggle buttons, scroll through playlists and artists, search songs. Not just a last played list. Giving you 5-10 choices on music you have already listened too. This as a mini media control panel would be epic. Maybe not the design they were going for, but allow the user a degree of customisation to improve the overall experience. The pros, the sound quality is great for a little show, nice punchy bass, but not over the top, highs are crisp, and no “tinniness” coming through. Excuse the poor choice of words, but couldn’t think of a better description. On a whole a great little device, good build quality but can’t help feeling like I want a little more usage out of it.

I bought this to go with the Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen) that was to go in my bedroom. However, I decided to use the Echo that I bought for my bedroom, for my office instead. The place where I put the Echo would only allow room for the device and not the stand. At first, I thought the Echo and Alexa would be great but I wanted to get used to operating the Echo first before I put it in my bedroom. I am glad I did because the second Echo was never purchased. I found that Alexia is too attentive and mouthy, no matter the settings. By the time I realized that the stand would never be used, it was too late to return it. But I want to be honest about the product itself. It is great for holding the Echo up and it looks really nice. If Alexa and i would have worked everything out, I am sure it would have looked great in my bedroom, but alas, things were not meant to be!
