  • Crisp clear Bose sound on a large scale. It's great!
Bose has a particular sound profile that emphasizes crisp, clean highs and mids, with modest but clean bass. This sound bar delivers heartily on the Bose sound, while pushing it out onto a large sound stage in front of your TV. The directional sound comes across nicely - it's not pure surround so it's not perfect - but it is pretty darn convincing. The build quality is magnificent. I purchase the white one and it looks clean, minimal, and the glass/metal exterior feels as durable as it looks and feels. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase. Some key highlights I noticed right away: - The dialogue/vocals in movies and TV are crystal clear. And I mean it is CRISP. Wow. Even combined with action, drama, music, etc. you can hear every word clearly. - Music and TV/Movies both sound great. The Bose profile works better with certain music genres, and tends to fall flat on metal/hard rock and rap which rely on the lower end of the spectrum for the full music experience (...the bass module aids in balancing across all music types). - The lows/bass are a little too mild for my taste, I prefer a richer and deeper sound on the low end personally. I purchased the Bose 700 subwoofer to accompany this and I couldn't be happier about that. However, if you're not picky about wanting some heavier bass, it's by no means a necessity and if you turn up the bass on the bar (in-app) it does kick out a bit more on the lows which is nice. - The setup was one of the easiest tech setups I've experienced. Download the app, detect the device, and you're done (...with initial setup; see below) There is a setup process for a feature called AdaptIQ (setup headset included) which asks you to put a somewhat goofy headset on and sit in your favorite sitting spots in the room. It then pings the receiver headset with a variety of sounds and calibrates the bar to an optimized listening profile for the space. I was HIGHLY skeptical about this; I am the type of person who tweaks the ever-loving crap out of everything so I was dismissive at first. However, after reading some feedback online indicating it can make a difference, I tried it and it does make a noticeable difference in the sound profile. It comes across as a richer, more balanced sound and it sounds even better. The process takes about 5 minutes; make sure it's very quiet when you run it, and it's a little loud Some critics denote that at this price point, it should be "Dolby Atmos-compatible" (many competing models with the Dolby cert at that price point). While I don't have much experience for that sound comparison firsthand, I will say I have no regrets about going with this sound bar over something else at this price. The surround is still solid for a sound bar, and if you're really that picky about having "Dolby Atmos' for surround or whatever you shouldn't be buying a sound bar anyways... just buy an actual surround system. The remote is bigger than modern remotes, but looks nice and has a sturdy build quality. I like it (wife hates it). It is what it is. We programmed our Samsung TV remote to control the soundbar right away and it works great. Was initially attracted to the built-in Google Assistant feature because I have smart home devices and use Google Home frequently. However, it isn't as responsive/snappy as an actual Google Home device. Using it occasionally would be fine; we use Google every day for our lights and the delay is noticeable. After about a day I un-linked my google assistant from the device and reverted back to a Google home device in the living room. No big loss. If you want Google Assistant in your living room, I recommend just go buy a Google Home Mini for $20 and put it right next to it. If you're buying this soundbar specifically for Google Assistant features, well, you'll be disappointed but that's not why you should buy this anyways. It feels a little tacked on like it is with every new tech device these days. I don't hold it against them. Bluetooth, AirPlay, etc. all work great, and it shows up as an audio device in music apps (e.g., Spotify) that you can directly stream to. ... and if you made it this far, I hope this review helped! Thanks :) ... show more

  • I tried the Bose SOLO, SB 300, SB 500 & currently have the SB 700 in white.
I tried the Bose SOLO, SB 300, SB 500 & currently have the SB 700 in white. It’s longer than all the others and looks great. It’s crisp white and silver with a glass top. Sound was clear, in sync, loud and sounds great. I was weary that I would have the same issues with connectivity and Alexa integration that I had with the versions especially the 300/500 but the sound bar 700 connected perfectly fine with the BOSE MUSIC APP simple setup and has been working great since. The remote takes a little adjusting to since the detailed are only visible when lit up which also pretty much tells you what buttons are Available to you depending on which source you’re Connected to. It connected perfectly with my Samsung tv controls. Very happy and satisfied with it. ... show more

  • Music sounds amazing
Purchased this for my wife. She loves listening to her music loud and my previous sound bar just wasn’t cutting it. Purchased the bose 700 Soundbar for her and she loved it. The sound is loud and scrips. Great for music and movies. For Christmas I threw in the bose 700 subwoofer and it sounds amazing and really compliments and completes the sound profile. My next purchase will be the bose 700 surround sound speakers but in the meantime I’m very happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Easy setup, worth the price.
A little bigger then expected but so much better then the Bose solo that I upgraded from. This sound bar is definitely top teir as expected from the heft price tag and the manufacturers name Bose says it all. And I'm definitely happy that I went with it in white, you ever notice how every sound bar on the market is black? This helps set it apart in a great way. This sleek sound bar scores a 8/10 from me, the only way I could see improvement is if this came with a better manual. Which brings me to my next point, the controller. This remote controller is sleek, modern, a little confusing. While the remote is in touched it shows a total of 8 buttons because they are the only ones marked visably. The rest light up from underneath it's matte rubberish finish while being really cool and somewhat helpful ( only available buttons light up ) so if you just have it on TV sound mode it just shows volume, Bluetooth, and tv. While this is great I think it's missing the ability to change the bass setting like on my old Bose remote. Which is okay but the manuals don't say anything about programming the remote for my smart TV, or any tv. Overall, I'm glad I purchased this. I also bought the bass module and surround sound speakers but I'm still waiting for them to arrive. This is a night 1 review lol UPDATE: FULL SYSTEM So I've had some time to adjust to the new 5.1 setup and the software. So overall for being a somewhat tech savvy person this setup was fairly straightforward. I just had to follow the directions. Bose wants you to use there app which is okay but sometimes I wish I didn't have to open the app to turn the subwoofer off when it gets late. But I get it first world problems but when you pay this much for a full system you expect to be wowed at every corner which for the most part I am. All the components just require 1 power outlet per item. Connecting wirelessly to each other with the help of the app. The rear speakers both need there own outlet but do include alot of extra wire. But absolutely DOESNT INCLUDE WALL MOUNTS I find this to be absurd because they don't even allow you to hang them by a screw with a simple cut out in the back of them. It feels absurd that my expensive wireless speakers have to sit on the ground because you have to but the wall mount separate... Oh yeah and their overpriced... Now back to the remote at first I couldn't figure it out because I wasn't using the app to help configure the sound bar. After properly configuring this sound bar I can now use the remote to; play music, connect to Bluetooth, turn on/off and control my Xbox, turn my tv on and access most of it, setup custom inputs, automatically switching to HDMI input on TV for the button you press. So overall the remote has alot of functionality I've found a couple draw backs firstly the finish makes it difficult to find buttons from feel almost requiring you to look at it to see what button your pressing. And on that note if you read before my update you might remember that you have to move the controller for a backlight to turn on in order to see what the buttons are. So I often find myself kind of shaking the controller to get the light to turn back on when I need to press a button. Why in the world did all my speakers come as separate shipments? Had to wait a week to get them all setup together. 🙄 ... show more
