Saw was good straight out of the box. I needed another firewood saw as my 272xp is having oiling issues and is 20 years old now. I couldn't justify getting another pro saw for the amount of work I do now. I read a lot of reviews and watched a lot of videos and decided to give the echo a try. I cut a full f250 truckload stacked front to back with gas left in the tank. The 272 would have ran out. I expect the echo to get better as I run a few tanks through it. The starting ritual is the same as it was for husky so it was no problem to get running. ... show more

    • Can't go wrong with this chainsaw for all purpose tasks, including light to moderate tree felling.
Very good replacement for a Husqvarna 460. Less expensive than the husky and some parts even appear to be slightly higher quality. Very solid feeling saw.

I bought this saw in the winter to be ready for the up coming season i ended up getting hurt so my season was delayed so i finally opened the box and the kill switch was hanging out and it is losing spark the the switch finally fell off if never cut a piece of wood with it yet over 500 dollar saw and they tell me its a warranty issue now im stuck bringing my saw to a dealer which is 45 minutes away from me and they are saying its going to be tough to get echo to pay for the repairs i will never buy from them again ... show more

    • Power with no bogging down.
I have NEVER used a saw like this one! It was throwing 3" chips and went through wood like it was BUTTER! Only one issue; it is insanely hard to crank, and that is common on larger cc saws. If you are female, this saw might not be for you. Otherwise, it is the strongest saw that I have ever used!

First use out of the box was cutting/logging a large tree that fell. I had a 16" ms170 and it definitely could not have done this tree in a day. The Ehco starts ok. Have to use the choke and decompression. Even when warm I found myself using the choke to start it. Hopefully just needs carb adjustments. Saw starts and runs great. It's a beast. Absolutely no regrets purchasing and love it. I have always loved ehco and am happy to have this saw. The hurricane hit and nobody had any chain saws and were gonna be weeks before getting restocked. Shout out to Amazon for getting this saw to me 4 days after I ordered in the aftermath of the hurricane. Love the saw! ... show more
