**Update** I have given these batteries and charging station a second round, and following the Mfg. recommendation of having the batteries go through a full 5 recharge cycles (Charge-use-Charge). Once I did this the batteries have now been performing as well as non-rechargeable batteries. The overall quality of the charger is great and the batteries so far are holding up well. I am reviewing the charging station and the use of the AAA batteries from EBL. I purchased this set for use with my children's various toys. The charging station is nice but bare in mind that you must charge the batteries in pairs. I like having the two USB 2.0 ports on the top face plate of the charger. The LED indicators do their job and are red while the batteries are charging and change to a green when the charge is reached. Charging speed really depends on how depleted the batteries are. For a first time charge expect 2+ and then after they are used I notice the AAA batteries will need about 2 hours to reach a good level. One issue I am having is fully charged batteries need to be used immediately otherwise they will discharge being stored. Regarding the use of the AAA batteries on a small RC car. They have to be used right put of the charger otherwise the RC car will not work. i have measured the voltage right put of the charger at 1.53 VDC and after 10 minutes of use the batteries drop from .93 to 1.28 VDC. I have used these batteries in other children's toy and they seem to hold up for about two weeks without having to replace but the other toys are just driving speakers and do no have to move anything. Whatever thickness means lol, look I bought this w the 8 AA and 8 AAA packs both are chargeable w the unit, the battery life is I’d say great, and between vide game controls and kids toys these definitely save me some big bucks on buying disposable.

    • Decent, but not for everyone or every application

I bought these with reservations because many Chinese batteries I’ve purchased before were outright fraudulent in terms of their stated capacity etc. I have not yet had a chance to actually capacity test any of these. I bought two of these 8 AAA batteries and charger packages in order to feed these commonly used set of 5 cheap color changeable LED remote hockey-puck shaped lights which eat three AAAs each. My first test was to charge them all at once and surprisingly they all charged to “full” at about the same time. Not thrilled that the charger mates them in pairs of two for charging which makes it more difficult to use them with longevity in mind because it requires marking each set to keep the batteries paired for reasons too long to get into here but trust me it is better to do so except in cases like this where the pucks each use an odd number of batteries then the odd third should be paired across lights to keep the majority of batteries discharging in matched pairs. But none of that’s really so important since none of them have been capacity tested individually but anyways, back ok topic.. The chargers are odd because they have varying degrees of charged as the charging and done lights are separate and they can be both illuminated at varying amounts across the spectrum of the amount of charging completed which isn’t very reassuring to know that the cycle is absolutely done as there is no clear break over point at which you can say for sure it’s done except by leaving them in the charger for an extra long time until all the shades of the charging status LEDs match exactly to the eye. It would have been better if both LED colors were on by the point the charger changes to higher trickle charge the last 20% and then one LED color turned off at the point the battery charging ends by current dropping to ultra low maintenance trickle. But I can’t really complain about this I guess . As I consider myself an expert in terms of understanding battery charging and technology issues I know these are not premium batteries but I will admit for the price these annoyances about not being the best functionality or optimum in terms of presentation and performance are pretty minor. If they were more costly I would expect better out of them but for the price and my specific application I can’t complain it was worth the money because they won’t be used in applications demanding or high performance, high longevity or high reliability. They are better than I anticipated which is a pleasant surprise for once from a Chinese manufacturer. I will eventually get around to individually cap testing these soon as my tester is pulled out of storage. Mid move here at the moment with yet nowhere permanent to move to thanks to the pandemic and the overpriced real estate in the Southern California area. ... show more

Wow, if you are looking for some great rechargeable batteries, then you should try these. I have the AAA and wow, are these great for remote controls, flash light, and other items that require triple A, no more of buying batteries, just set the battery in the charger and wow you now have fully charge battery. Honestly I love the charger and will be keeping it. I love that it is compatible for AA and AAA and was worth the purchase. But seriously... the battery life on these batteries is terrible. I use them for some motion sensor closet lights, when I first got them they were lasting only 2 days after a charge... I enter my closet 3 times a day TOPS. Some of the batteries actually ended up workin well, after trial and error and switching batteries time and time again, one string of lights ended up lasting an acceptable amount of time, I am guessing it was the right combination of “good batteries”. I can’t rate longevity as I just got this. But I like the idea of being able to use rechargeable batteries. And I like this can do both AA and AAA batteries. I put some in the automatic hand soap dispenser I needed to recharge after only 5 days but someone in another review said it takes several charges to get them built up to last longer. batteries start out ok but not great and without a way to charge them it is hard to tell if they last when you cant charge them Update*** After talking to the seller about the failed charger they sent me a new one which charged the batteries fully and are holding better than before.
