I am using this as a replacement for the headlamp that came with my cybervelo. (Broke it in a stupid accident) Although it looks identical, it seems to be a bit brighter. The build quality is what you might expect for something that cost $18. I’m not too concerned about it breaking under normal use. I did a test drive in a dark park and it seemed to work very well. If you are using it for normal street riding, I think it would be just fine with secondary lighting coming from the street lamps. I would not use this as my primary light for night riding. I currently have an external rechargeable headlight that is much brighter. I think it works just fine as a back up. ... show more

    • Bright but not as wide as we hoped
I needed a headlight for a client's ebike who didn't want to pay the $60 for the factory original. I came across this headlight for a fair price so I showed it to the client, she agreed to it and I ordered it. The light works and it's bright but it has a narrow beam. The light that originally came on her bike has a very wide beam and covers a lot of ground. This one, unfortunately, although it works great, did not meet her expectations but, I was able to install it on her bike, get it working for her and she at least has a headlight to hold her up until she can afford to buy the manufacturer's headlights if she's so chooses.. Why did you pick this product vs others?: The reviews were quite positive Brightness: Although the light is bright, the beam is more centralized and focus rather than a widespread beam which is what the client wanted. Very bright and well built comared to the stock light that came with my Lectric e-bike. Easy to install, time will tell. I haven't used it yet, it is winter is here in the northern part of the country.
