I am extremely happy with this set. The table seems like it will last a lifetime. It is heavy and well made. Very easy assembly of table. It seems as if the top may scratch over time, but I like that wearing effect on black painted furniture. If you don't be sure to keep it polished well. The chairs are bulky, in a good way, and seem to be much better than the average quality you see nowadays. They were a pain to put together, but worth it. They seem like they will need tightening from time to time though, so keep that in mind. The seat fabric is a silvery grey as others have indicated. It is a lovely color, better than the picture, but definitely not in the tan family. It does not have a shiny sheen to it. There is ample room to have chairs side by side at the table, without being butted up against your neighbor. Overall this is a fantastic set at a great price. Update... Two years later. Still love this table and chair set! The table is solid and leaf still works great even though we use it about once a week. Chairs need tightening a couple of times a year and I use the allen wrench it came with. The table top has surface scratches but we use this as everyday piece for eating, schoolwork, and crafts. It's lived in and loved. There have been a few dings on the chairs that took away paint and were more visible than I liked. The big brand regular permanent marker covered them right up and dried fast. Can't see them at all. If I had to go back I would still buy this set in a heartbeat! ... show more

I was a little worried about this table since there were so few reviews when I bought it, but it's truly wonderful. It's very easy to assemble, though it is a heavy table so I recommend having help to set it upright without damaging the legs or anything. There's a bit of a strange smell from the seat of the chairs, but it's subtle and I'm confident it'll fade quickly. The seat covers are definitely more silver than cream or white, but I like them a lot. Truly a lovely, sturdy piece of furniture. Easily earns 5 stars. Update, 2 years later: The scent for the chairs definitely faded quickly. The table gets scratched and dented, but it’s within reason. Personally, I like it cause it adds character and life to the table. But if you want to keep it more pristine, use a tablecloth or something. We tighten the screws on the chairs and table about twice a year. I still feel like this set is well worth the cost. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We bought our home in November and have been in the market for a dining table for months. I this and instantly envisioned it in our dining room. We LOVE it! So much better than other furniture stores we’ve been too. The assembly was easy but you do need 2-3 people when it comes to flipping the table over. It is very heavy and solid. It came in 5 boxes. Very heavy and sturdy. Assembly is very easy and the hardware provided is high quality. The butterfly leaf is so easy to use and fully open the table could very comfortably seat 8. We are very happy with this purchase and can't wait to have our first family meal at our new table.

Overall experience is 4.5 stars: - Neutral rating on delivery as it was brought a week earlier and we were still painting the dining room, but considering some complaints on their deliveries being late, I suppose I am fortunate... - Delivery company is 5 stars as they readily accommodated my request to bring the 6 boxes inside the house. Professional, on time, and friendly. - Product is a 4.5 rating due to uneven painting and some minor "scratches" that I covered with a furniture repair marker. Packaging was sufficient to protect the product and hardware. Instructions on the section for the table leaf could have been better illustrated but in general, assembly was straight-forward. It says they will bring it into the entry way. I was 8 months pregnant and the delivery guy refused to bring the boxes up two steps into the front door even though I was obviously by myself and very pregnant. He put them in the garage instead. So they had to be dragged into the dining room. I built it myself while 8 months pregnant. It uses Allen wrenches for EVERYTHING. My hands were so swollen that I could only build two chairs a day because my hands hurt so bad. I would have rather been able to use a drill. The main box, which is the table, was very very heavy. I managed to do it all while exhausted and pregnant so you will be able to too. The table is heavy but the chairs are very light. So don't expect the chairs to feel like hardwood chairs. It looks super nice and has a leaf for 8 chairs or taken out for 6 chairs. There were no pictures when I got it so I didn't know what color the chair fabric was. Luckily they are silvery and not tan. I love this dining room set though. So pretty. ... show more

I wait for this table about couple weeks. It was a day late delivery. Box was perfectly fine but when I opened it up, the table top was already ruined. It just started to crumble up.

Ordered the white, 8 chair table. The extension has a great mechanism that folds under and tucks away. The chairs are very comfy. It is built to last and would highly recommend this piece.
