This is my go-to beach canopy now. After years of hauling the backyard canopies with the metal frame onto the beach, I was finally ready for one that weighed less than 10 pounds to carry. This one fit the bill. Not only is it lightweight and colorful, it takes one person a couple of minutes to set up (2 people in strong wind). It protected us from intense sun for several days and withstood some wind from Hurricane Erin on the OBX. On windy days, we filled the bags up to capacity and half-buried them in the sand for extra support. The poles, straps and canopy fit easily into the storage bag (although it could be a little bigger) and the ease of setup and tear down is fantastic. On windy days, the sidewall is not very helpful as it blows in or out of the tent area depending on the direction of the wind. A couple of clothes pins would help this issue, however. On non-windy days, the sidewall provided more shade against direct sunlight. The tent material is very durable and stretchy. We stretched it to its maximum every day and this tent held up well. It provides enough shade for several people and is even versatile in set up to change with the sunlight (two poles vs. four, moving the poles around, etc.). I highly recommend this canopy for the beach, backyard or any place you need a little more shade. I purchased a bigger, much more expensive shade similar to this one last year from a different manufacturer, and this shade is MUCH better in my opinion.

It’s a good size canopy that stays put once you forge out how to assemble it (instructions are not easy but once you figure it out the first time, it’s easy to assemble every other time). Our family is one who usually drags 3-4 umbrellas down to the beach on our yearly trips - heavy, cumbersome, and yes, the occasional end-over-end rolling across the beach in a high wind, praying someone doesn’t get impaled. Ordered the is against my husband’s wishes for our family of 9 adults and two babies. It was perfect! We had a couple of pretty windy days from Hurricane Milton, but this thing was awesome!! It flapped some in the worst wind gusts, but was solidly in place with lots of shade for us. It was lightweight to carry, easy to set up (takes a couple of times to really be a pro), and solidly in the sand. The only negative my husband could come up with was that he saw another brand that had reinforced corners where the poles go and wished this one had those. But the price was such a deal, and this one will hopefully last us many years, so no worries on that. It’s gotten a full seven days of use with no wear and tear so far.

Great tent, I used it today under a 100ºF. Very easy to set up. The only thing is that the bag is too small to pack it all quickly before you melt. You need to fold it nicely and tidy to be able to close it

I thought this was a terrible idea and was not happy with my wife for purchasing this shade tent. We go to Port Aransas, Texas for a month every spring and the shade tents always cause frustration. It’s always windy there and I was so sick of fighting these stupid tents every time the wind came up. Numerous times my wife had woken me up to go out and collapse the tent because the wind was blowing. Much to my dismay we set this thing up one time and left it up the entire time we were there with no issues. I was quietly fuming the entire time we set it up, but I was glad I kept my mouth shut. It did great and allowed her to set up her decorations and lights and leave them up!

We bought this in lieu of a previous canopy because of the fabric. This canopy is so easy to put together and provides an immense amount of shade. At one point, we were under a very sunny sky, and all 12 of my family members managed to get under this. It’s not 100% UV so you’ll still need sunscreen but the ease of putting it up and down is well worth it.
