I had been looking into a buying a new mattress for myself and my fiancé, I bought bamboo sheets earlier this year and was really interested when I saw this bamboo mattress. I ended up buying a king size for my mom because she’d been complaining hers was wearing out and I thought It would make a nice early Christmas present. I was a little worried about the flexibility on an adjustable bed, but it appears to work fine for that. Please watch my video to see it in action. The mattress itself did raise to the full ten inches, the top is less pillowy than the stock photos and the mattress is pretty firm. My mother likes it and said she’s sleeping better, she has MS and bad joints so I feel like it’s a solid win. Pros: 1. Does actually get 10 inches thick if you give it the full 24 hours. You can see it evolve over time in my photos. (I’ve done one of these compressed ones before and it never reached its stated height, so I think this is important to know and be able to see for yourself) 2. It’s supportive for joints without being uncomfortable. 3. It works on adjustable bed frames pretty well, again this is visible in my video upload. Cons: 1. The pillow top cushion is not as fluffy as it appears in the photos, all in all I consider that a minor issue given the abundance of cheap mattress toppers that exist. A decent mattress pad or foam topper would solve this (if it’s an issue for you) and collectively still be much cheaper than a traditional king size mattress. 2. It’s quite heavy. Heavier than the mattress it was replacing by a fair amount. Not sure exactly what caused the weight, but it seems very tough and well made. The box especially it ships in is going to be hefty and awkward to solo carry. So have someone to help set it up. Word of advice: Give it the full 24 hours to fully recover from the shipping compress. It’s with the wait to make sure the mattress is completely ready to be used. ... show more

    • I'm an idiot
When I first got this bed I thought it had a saggy quadrant and was very disappointed because the rest of it felt great. So I reached out to the company and they were VERY responsive and made it very clear they wanted to do whatever they could to make sure I was satisfied. Well, on a hunch I checked my new "fancy" box spring and found out that a few of the cross bars had come undone and were leading to the problem. So it was MY bad. I am now updating my review with apologies to the manufacturer who was very kind during this process. The bed is an excellent value and as someone who likes a firm bed (but not a rock) I am enjoying it very much. ... show more

I admit I overlooked some facts and relied on the reviews. I do not challenge them, though. These are bright consumers with both subjective (personal tastes) and objective (product-related) views. I found another item with one negative review (subj.), added it to my cart, deleted it and could not find it again. I should have saved it. The drawing of the layers IS misleading. There's maybe 2" between the p.top and the coils. When I sit on the side, it sags, more than the previous mattress (me: 66 yrs., 6'0, 185). My previous bed was better constructed, but not hybrid: Extra firm (no sag), but harder on me after 5 years (purchased from an estate sale in "like new" condition). So I searched for several days for this one. I hear and read that foam can feel hot and I do not want that issue, esp. in the summer. I could not find any measurements on the layers and so, went with the reviews. But, take away the pillowtop and this bed would be very average. Again, it's my mistake, but one does not know until it's tried. To be sure, I have slept well. I just expected and want a little more for $400. I do not want the hassle of returning it if permissible. But it could be a "6-star" with another 3- 4" of foam, on top of the coils / beneath the p.top. I suggest trying out mattresses locally, first. The customer service is very good from kind folks (this, after the sale). I could not find a place to contact them beforehand, clicking on the company name. Apparently, it is made in Thailand with good specs., testing and labor. I had 2 issues before using the mattress. It opened up fast even before the outer bag was removed (whoosh!), out and up - but I still waited 48 hrs. 1.) I had to do this in the main room of my 1-bdrm. apt. 2.) It has no handles to drag it (8 feet or so) after getting it in position. But, I'm not upset and the employee said they would pass on my suggestions. Yes, I know that sleep is the most important outcome. So why complain? Someone said criticism (done right) means you care. I want the best for all. 3-star reviews can go either way.
