  • The wheels feel tight after the mower has been sitting for a couple of days.
I mow my lawn twice per week with this mower. The reason is to make sure I'm only mowing the top 1/3 length of the grass as when it gets longer I don't feel it does as well. This is just a consequence of all push-mowers I've used not this one specifically. My first mow, the grass was long and I did mow twice initially to get my lawn to the level I wanted. I mow on Tuesdays and Saturdays and the lawn looks great. My neighbor commented on how good my lawn looked. The mower is easy to assemble, just attach the handle and get started. It is relatively light when compared to a gas or electric mower, but a little heavier than my 5-blade push mower. The manual recommends to put WD-40 or similar lubricant on the blades after use, I would emphasize that recommendation. In my experience, the wheels are tight initially and the mower makes a loud screeching sound for a few seconds when starting initially. This seems to be alleviated by spraying WD-40 on the blades after mowing. Cutting crab grass is a challenge as the length of that grass can be tall enough to not get caught in the turning blades, other than that, beautiful cut, easy to push, easy cleanup - works great on my bermuda and fescue. Only complaint: I wish the handles were wider. ... show more

  • Great Little Reel Mower... especially for the Price!
I bought this to mow my new installed Bermuda turf... (It's hard to crank though... LOL!) it was extremely easy to assemble and the blades were sharp from the factory. I found it very addictive to mow with despite having an expensive Zero Turn mower and a new rotary mower. Obviously the noise level is much lower than a motorized mower and the gas savings are a plus. It is light weight which was perfect for my newly installed turf. I am mowing approximately 3200 sq ft around our house (I use my Zero Turn for the rest of my 3 acres). I have yet to have to sharpen the blades or to adjust the bed knife. IF it ever wears out, I would buy another one immediately!!! My wife is 5'2" and barely 100 lbs and she has NO PROBLEM mowing with it... it is easy to push. When I finish mowing, I WD-40 the bed knife and then run the blades over it by pulling it along my concrete drive to distribute the WD-40 on all the blades. Great mower for the price!!! ... show more

  • Good quality mower
7 blade reel mower, easy to assemble. No tools required. Fairly easy to push. Light weight. If you have a well established lawn it cuts well. If you have dandelions and clover... you really need a power mower. This doesn't cut dandelion stalks.

  • Great machine that leaves my yard looking like the yard of the month!
First off, this item is fantastic! I love it and what it does for my lawn being that my front yard is completely uneven and if I try to use a lawnmower, it’ll leave uneven spots and/or burn spots. Second, this item was easy to install and to adjust to the correct height I was looking for. Finally, it’s easy to clean and the blades stay sharp. I’ve used it every 3rd day since I first received and initially used it. Now my only gripe and it’s not really too big of a deal to take any stars away but, I feel like the handle bars could be extended out further that where they are currently located. I have wide shoulders and it is a nuisance trying to push this thing and turn without fully using my upper body strength. Other than this one tiny issue, I highly recommend this product and encourage you to try it! ... show more

  • First time user
8/2019 - I want to update my review just in case someone is reading this and wonder why my final solution was. I bought the expensive Fiskar, it was a lot easier to push and does the job fairly well. However, it was still too much effort when you let your grass let a little too long. I ended up getting a EGO battery powered mower and is very happy with it. Well, after a lot of research, I decided to give this one a try. I have a small yard, and it does an okay job mowing it. Taller grass are left uncut, so you have to cut your grass on a weekly basis (it is expected of push mowers). This thing is NOT made for short people. I'm 5'9 and I have moderate difficulty pushing this because of the design. The rollers acts as a fulcrum when you push it forward (if you're short, you tend to push down), lifting the blades up. The blades won't spin, and your grass is not cut. On areas where my grass is thick, it is very difficult to push. I'm returning this item and will try a fiskar or an electric mower instead. ... show more

  • Great for small lawn
I have a "natural yard". Native plantings, not much lawn. No chemicals, so the lawn is kind of weedy. My neighbor cuts it with a lawn tractor but he has to do an 8 point turn to cut it, poor guy. Plus there's an area he can't get to. So i bought this mower. I just cut my whole yard in less than 1/2 hour. I'm a senior citizen lady, in pretty good shape. It's very easy to push around. Good exercise too. It was easy for me to assemble, which is not usually my strong point. I couldn't figure out how to get the e rings on, so left them off and no problem so far with the handle coming off. The tall grass in back is a work in progress, as i need to keep cutting it. I set the mower on the highest setting. But very tall grass doesn't get cut on the first (or 10) pass (es). But if you don't let your grass get too high, it does a great job. I still need to have someone edge my lawn, which i think is as important as cutting if you have a sidewalk. ... show more
