I’m 6’2”. I had to open up the straps all the way. The crank handle was too low for me to operate. Shorting the straps to make it higher brought the fert closer to my face, which I don’t really like. But it did come with a cover. I just like to see how much fert I have left as I use it. Not easy to do when looking through the cover.

So far the biggest issue we've had with this spreader was that it came with the crank handle located on the wrong side of the unit. Granted, it was possible to put it on the other side, but it there was no note in the directions as to how to do it. Spindle axle area seems to weak, we'll see how well it holds up.

Just opened the box on the spreader and was missing parts. No handle, no cover for hopper and no straps. The problem is I just drove 45 mins to spread fertilizer on my food plot and now I don’t have anything to spread it with! Lesson learned, I’ll open and ensure everything is in working order before I make the trip next time. Not sure how the seller is going to handle, will keep you posted. Called and they shipped missing parts, arrived 2 days later! Spreader seems to be really nice and stellar did a good job backing product. Liked that they shipped parts instead of me having to ship spreader back.

I use this spreader for my 1/2 acre garden . I have an earthway wheel spreader also. Hard to push the wheel spreader through plowed ground. The 3100 works just like my other spreader as far as settings. I fill it about halfway full so it’s not to heavy, you get better control with the handheld spreader . Use the attached cover, fertilizer/lime is close to your face the cover keeps you from eating the dust. Works well should have gotten it a while back. Farmer Ron
