These hangers are sturdy and attractive, much better than toe nailing or using galvanized hangers and then trying to cover them up. My only issue is that for them to work well, your post or surface needs to be perfectly plumb and square. If the post is twisted by a few degrees, it it tilts one way or another by a few degrees, or if the surface is not perfectly flat, you will spend a lot of time conforming your 2 x 4 to those issues.
