I haven't use these yet since the ground is frozen but I think it will fix my gate post just fine. The ground is rocky and in a place it would be hard for me to dig up the post that is currently there. They seem to be well made and easy to install. I'll update after I get them on my posts.

The perfect solution to repair old wooden posts. I have several that had broken off at ground level. The repair posts easily drove down into hard packed desert ground, making a secure, stable support for the wooden posts. Highly recommend these as an alternative to replacing old posts. They just work!

First, the instructions are confused or misprinted; it’s impossible to install these supports on an existing fence the way they direct. Basically, you have to do the steps in the order 1, 3, 2, 4. If there is concrete around the post, and it was put in an oversized hole, then you may need to add a spacer board between the vertical part of the bracket and the post to get the stakes past the cement. In my case, that was not a problem because the concrete wasn’t in the way. It may have helped that I was working on the faced side of the fence which added an extra 1/2” from the 4x4 post itself. The kit includes a wrench and extra screws. Despite the weird directions, these were easy to install and brought the fence back up to plumb and steadied it well.
