I moved into an apartment which had two GX23-powered florescent bulbs that would flicker and make noises as if I were in a horror movie for the first five seconds. Because it's not a good idea to suddenly rewire an apartment to something more logical just so I can use LED bulbs, I decided that I would try to find an adapter for GX23 that converts it into a standard socket used by all light bulbs. It was impossible to find them locally but I was able to find this on Amazon and it worked perfectly, I was able to replace the old florescent tube lighting with a standard LED bulb that is more energy efficient and it works perfectly without the flickering while simultaneously being much brighter. I hated the Gx23 bulbs in our bath rooms. They take a couple of seconds to light up, they're not very bright, and when they need to be replaced...they're expensive! This is a great way to replace those damn bulbs with LED bulbs. They're easy to install. Just remove the old Gx23 bulb, bypass/remove the old ballast, pop these in, and screw in your new LED bulbs. Did a current check prior to installation. Everything checked out, however I could not get anything to work. I tried all 4 of the units for conduction they were okay. When the unit is plugged in, there is no voltage. Most likely a ballast issue or interior issue within the adapter? I will delve deeper into this issue as this unit is a combination bathroom vent with compact fluorescent lighting. Due to the configuration, I cannot do a direct ballast bypass as there isn’t any room to connect a standard bulb connection. The units appear to be well made. ... show more

I have put up with dim lighting in my kitchen and 1/2 bath for WAY too long with the older stick-type bulbs, unacceptable to say the least!!! Had some Gx23 CFLs in ceiling cans that were burnt out (and I wanted to get rid of the rest and replace them with LEDs anyway.) The big box store wanted more than $12 for LED versions that were the wrong shape. I bought a couple packs of these adapters instead. They cost more than they honestly should but they worked perfectly! Fortunately, I anticipated the need for shorter bulbs so I had pre-bought some “short neck” PAR30s at the big box store. December 2018 Update: Amazon is the ONLY place you can find these! NOT available at Home Depot or Lowe's! So while remodeling a home, I ran into a problem in that two of the bathrooms had those awful, 2-pin Flour Bulbs that are dim and a pain in the butt to replace. BUT... due to the way the original Cans were installed, it would have been a major headache to pull out the old cans to replace with new LED cans... so THESE are the Perfect Solution!
