I tossed and turned for a couple of years on whether I wanted to spend over $400 on a blow dryer. I finally gave in and I'm really glad I did. I've been using this dryer for about 2 months. First, don't think of this as "just" a hair dryer. You're actually not paying for a blow dryer - you are paying for a brushless motor (if you don't know what that is, ask a car guy about brushless motors). The motor on this dryer is high-powered, quiet, and not overly hot so you don't fry your hair. I'm in my late 40s, so my hair isn't overly thick, and I wear it shoulder-length. I can honestly say my hair dries in 3 to 4 minutes, tops. The dryer never gets overly hot so I don't have to worry about damaging my hair. There is so much air pushed that my hair dries so quickly. All in all, this is a beautiful tool, and I love it. I'm glad I spent the money. It should be the last dryer I ever need. I've played with the attachments, and I'm still learning those, but even without an attachment - this is a great dryer.

This is the best hair dryer I’ve ever owned! It has several settings and attachments so you can get exactly the results you need for your hair. I use it for my hair (Caucasian, straight and thin hair) as well as my daughter (African-American, naturally tight curls). It works fast and dries the hair a lot more quickly than other dryers. Plus, it has a cute design and a great case that holds everything and keeps it tidy. Great investment!

WAfter waiting years to spend this much on a hair dryer I cannot even comment on how it works because the very first time I plugged it in , the device came on for about 30 seconds, let out a puff of smoke and a burning scent and went off. Twice more it did the same exact thing. I have just been told by Dyson customer service that it can be exchanged but this one is currently out of stock with “ no estimated date of availability “ but I will need to watch for an eventual email to let me know that I can then call Dyson again to iniatev an exchange. This is pathetic customer service response on a 430.00 hair dryer and im so disappointed in a company whose vacuum I have enjoyed. On Amazon the product listing not only says “ currently unavailable “ But also says “ uncertain when or IF this product will be available again”. So the customer is not only completely inconvenienced but also pays for an expensive item that arrives broken and is then expected to wait until they are notified further and an item with a two year warranty. When I asked about applying the credit toward a different dryer i was told this was not an option. Then when I expressed my displeasure snd asked to soak with a customer service manger I was told there waa no reason for that because i would only be told the same thing. Unaccountable business practices that are clearly not acceptable no matter how good the dryer may or may not be!!! Im hoping to be able to update this review with a 180 of of positives but right now Im furious with Dyson and would NOT advise buying this or any other dyson product . I will be pursuing this with Amazon and Amex as well but really resent the ise of so much of my time.

It was hard to spend such a large amount of money on a hairdryer, but wow is it worth it! It's significantly quieter, cooler and lighter than my previous premium dryer, a Sam Villa. I have fine, thin blond hair that is naturally curly and it dries my hair in about 5 minutes. I don't even have to use a flatiron anymore, I just use the blade attachment for a minute at the end with my brush to get any final wave out, then that amazing weirdly-shaped flyaway attachment thing to smooth it down. Tip, watch the tutorials on Dyson's site, they are easy to follow and gave me guidance on the right settings to use for my hair. There are a lot of options and if you're used to the basic hot/high for everything like I always was, it's good to get familiar with it!

If you have fine hair, or hair with flyaways, then this is an absolute must for you!! My breakage was beyond and my hair was out of control, I had basically given up that I’d have nice hair. Fries so fast, the handle is easy to hold and the shorter length of the barrel makes it so much easier to maneuver. Attachments mean different styles are easy to achieve. I chose this over the airwrap for the diffuser for my daughter’s long extremely thick curly hair. With no change in any products my hair is silky soft and glossy. Zero flyaways and lasts all day. Ditch your medieval torture tools of hair damage. I have ditched my GHD straighteners since getting this and can achieve soft, straight hair that hold all day.

Love love love this hair dryer! I am hard I suppose on hair dryers I use one everyday and get about a year or so out of one. With this being said the test will be will it last longer than others?? I sure hope bc it does such a great job! My hair feels so healthy and smooth. I have 2 Dyson sweepers and they are wonderful as well. Hope their hairdryers don’t disappoint as well.
