They cost a lot less than comparable Trex screws and work well. In some cases they are better than Trex, in others not as good (see below). Pros of these screws: Much lower cost The screws don't break like Trex seems to Cons of these screws (over Trex): The heads strip too easily and only two bits in a large box, which is insufficient. The screws stick out of the plastic holder just enough that I frequently can't put the piece in place on the deck board without unscrewing the screw some (not a big deal, but a hassle). ... show more

Does not work with Deckorators Brand Decking. The description is that the product is universal. Here is the reason per AI. Universal deck clips, like those sold by Gyykzz, often fail with Deckorators grooved boards because of a mismatch in slot dimensions. Many universal clips are designed for standard gaps (usually 0.26" or wider) and slot heights around 0.28", while Deckorators features a smaller 5/32" side groove. ... show more

After seeing the frankly absurd price at the big-box store for similar fasteners I figured I had nothing to lose trying these. They performed better than I could have ever expected for my Trex decking installation. Pro tip: Go buy a pair of real T5 bits, as the ones that come with it are absolute trash. Didn't purchase enough Trex fasteners. I was a few short. I bought these as the color was more conducive with my Tide Pool deck boards. I preferred these over the Trex fastners. The screws were preloaded in the fasteners and were flush with the base. Also the screw was more secure in the fastener. Recommend these hidden deck fasteners for Trex decking. Much less expensive than name brand, Trex fasteners and reviews for both were the same. Some will break. I got 500 for $50 versus 250 for $190 for Trex fasteners.
