This fireplace is absolutely beautiful! The picture doesn’t do it justice! It is extremely heavy and will require 2 people to carry it inside. My husband said it wasn’t difficult to assemble, but it did take a few hours. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. Our only complaint is the top mantle board was a bit warped, so it was hard to assemble that into place but thankfully we were able to figure it out. This is a very nice product. It took two hours to put together. Even though the directions are mostly just pictures to follow, it was simple enough even with just one person assembling. The flame is soothing to watch, controls are easy to adjust, and it puts out a good amount of heat. It shut down no problem when the room was up to temperature. It did come with one of the plastic logs feet broken off but I glued it back on without issue. Also due to where we placed it the outlet is directly behind the flame box. This causes the unit to not be able to be flush with the wall due to how far the plug extends out from the outlet. I even changed the outlet to a recessed outlet but still need another half an inch to get it flush. Lastly I added a drop in outlet to the top of the mantle so we can plug in lights, phone chargers, electronics, etc. It would be nice if that were an option when purchasing because I probably voided the warranty. All in all a very nice piece and would buy again. ... show more

First - it looks great in our bedroom and puts out a nice amount of heat. It has several heat settings and a timer. When this arrived, the box is so heavy it needed 2 men to put it onto a moving blanket & pull it into our bedroom. The directions are very easy to follow. I laid everything out on the floor by Item Letter, then started assembling. You will need a screwdriver, which is not included. At one point I needed my husband's help to upend the fireplace. I got to the point of putting the mantel (top) onto the structure and the holes did not line up, no matter what we tried - probably warped in shipping. We struggled with it, then asked a neighbor for help. He pounded on the mantel & it fit into place! I had trouble pushing in the 3 plastic clips (Step 2) and one broke, but there were no extras. We had to improvise. Overall - it's beautiful, compliments our bedroom while heating, once assembled it's very sturdy but the individual structure pieces are flimsier than I expected. I have a small duraflame electric heater that I bought when my husband and I were first married, 16 years ago. When we decided to purchase an electric fireplace to heat our basement I felt confident in purchasing from this brand. The quality of the fireplace is excellent. The only room for improvement I see is in the appearance of the flame but it is accurately depicted in the photos.
