  • Great, easy to use full kit
If you, like me, are not a fan of the standard galvanized break calipers look on your ride , then this kit is perfect and easy way to remedy that. Kit has everything you will need to do the job. This is the second car I used it on and first ride color lasted for seven years (had to touch up once because when I bought new tires a shop chipped few areas), maybe more but I don’t know since I sold the car. Great product. Easy application, no need to disassemble anything, just remove wheels and tape some parts and hand paint the calipers. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Very happy, and sharp looking results!
I painted my calipers and rotors last August and wanted to give it the winter to see how it held up before I wrote the review. I'm completely happy with this product. First thing...prep, Prep, PREP! Any paint work is only going to be as good as your prep. Like building a house, if the foundation isn't solid, the rest doesn't matter! Now, I did this on a brand new truck, but I still degreased with brake cleaner, wire brushed, sanded, degreased, and wiped clean. If you have older calipers that have rust on them, you need to get it off if you expect this to last. Painting over a poorly prepped caliper that still has rust, dirt, grease, and/or grime isn't going to last, and it's not the products fault. The only thing I would do differently is when I do my wife's vehicle I will remove the calipers from the rotor and remove the brake pads. I don't intend to do all of that masking work again. If you do it properly, it is VERY time consuming. Put the entire vehicle on jack stands, do all your prep, and paint all 4 at the same time. By the time you get the 4th finished, it will be time to do the next coat on the 1st, and so on. Read and follow the directions on application regarding humidity and application and curing times and it will look great! I also painted the visible surface of my rotors Dupli-Color Black Satin because to me, a rusty rotor takes away from a nice looking caliper. I only painted what would be visible on the rotor. DO NOT paint the rotor (hub) face where the wheel contacts the rotor, unless you want wheel balance issues when you put the wheels back on. Even the *slightest* amount of paint between the wheel and rotor hub face will cause vibration. I don't know that this paint is actually rated for the rotor as it gets much hotter than the caliper, but I have had no problems with it. I did give it plenty of time to cure. Make sure it isn't the slightest bit tacky to the touch before driving. I then drove it a couple of miles throughout the neighborhood to heat them up. When I got back they were plenty hot and almost had a tacky feel. I let them cool and sit another day, and did the same thing the next day. It felt much better this time. I let it sit the rest of the day and the next day started driving it normally and have had no issues with it. I have driven and washed my truck normally at the car wash without any problems. I use the car wash sprayer and haven't damaged the caliper or rotor paint. I wash them normally though, I don't put the sprayer right next to the caliper. I would *definitely* recommend spending a little money and buying quality paint brushes. This paint is very thick and will pull the bristles of the supplied brush onto your paint surface. I had already anticipated this from other reviews and bought a little better quality brush from the craft store, but I was being cheap and bought lower to middle ground brush....the time I spent picking bristles out of my work was not worth the money I saved. Next time I will spend the money on a brush that can take the thick paint. ... show more

  • Looks great !!!
Decided to paint the calipers on new 2024 Acura MDX A-Spec. Researched and found out that brush paint is the best and doesn’t require removing the caliper or covering a lot before paint. Got this paint kit and I was very impressed… paint went on very easy and looks great. Let dry for 48 hours. Nice product. Two weeks later and still good. ... show more

  • Good product.
Worked well, fairly easy to apply. Would be a 5 but the masking tape was missing in the package.

  • Great product
Exactly as advertised. I put on 3 coats. 1st coat is a see through base. 2nd coat completed coverage. 3rd coat leveled out the paint and left a great glossy finished. The brush was not great but worked for the whole time. The color was just what I expected. Very happy with the results. Still have about 2/3 of the can left. Definitely enough to do another car. ... show more

  • Serves its Purpose and Definitely Worth it
The company says "This durable, protective coating is resistant to chipping, brake dust, and automotive chemicals." and I have been using for a few months and it has stood up to its promises so far. Very satisfied with this kit and recommend for others - you won't regret it. Thank you!!

  • Works Great
It works as well as everyone says it does. HOWEVER, make sure you give yourself plenty of time for proper prep and application. If you are putting this on a set of Brembos or similar calipers, it will take some time to make 3-4 complete coats. The paint (by nature) goes on pretty thick, so it takes a little doing to get into some of the tough to reach areas. Start by thoroughly cleaning the calipers and removing the pads and rotors (sure, you can leave them on if you want to do a sloppy job), then you can mount the caliper with one bolt onto the empty hub so that it can be articulated during painting. This way, the caliper is supported but still able to be moved to get complete coverage. If you don't mind bleeding the brakes and want to take them completely off, even better. Make sure you mask off everything you don't want to get messy, and I would strongly suggest you wear latex gloves because if you get this crap on your hands it is really a pain to get off. Start with a light-medium coat so the paint gets set up, then wait a few minutes and put on a second, slightly heavier coat. This stuff self-levels to an extent, so don’t worry about slight brush marks. Repeat until you have solid coverage, and don't worry, there is plenty of paint. Now, this part is really important: make sure the paint is completely set up (not tacky to the touch) before you handle the calipers or else you will have just wasted your time. It may take a day or more, depending on how heavy you applied the coats and the temperature. If you plan to put decals on and clear over them, give it about 5 days to cure before you do. If you take your time and do the prep work these will look just like a set of powder coated calipers when you are done. ... show more

  • Old bumpy paint.
Not smooth at all. The brush was falling apart when painting the calipers too. This paint used to be good years ago when it would self level but it just went on like garbage. All sales were final on this product as well. I painted this a week ago and the paint is still sticky.
