  • Outstanding tire
I have been using Roadsmart 3's for a few years now. They are an outstanding tire as far as grip and wear go. One of the best features is the grip remains the same until you get to the wear bars. They do not have quite as much "Feel" as some other tires, but they are like a steel frame roller coaster. Smooth and completely predictable once you get used to the tire's vibe. I have done many track days on them and the performance was beyond expectations. I ran a set of Roadsmart 4's and did not notice enough difference in the mileage/performance to justify the price differential. I will continue to use these until they stop producing them. ... show more

  • Excellent price and prompt delivery.
Installed on a 2008 Yamaha FZ-1 replacing first gen Roadsmarts. Difficult to compare the two sets because the replaced tires were down to the wear bars and were getting old. Initially I thought turn-in had become slightly more abrupt but after getting 150 miles or so on them, trying to scrub them in gradually, that difference is gone. It could be just that I've gotten used to them but turn-in now seems very linear. Out right grip in curves is excellent! Very stable under braking and acceleration. Ride is great, very stable tires, they seem totally unruffled by tar snakes, even in curves. The originals were excellent in wet weather, but have not tried these in the rain yet. The Gen 4 has been out a while now and because of that great deals can be found on the 3s. You'll save about $200 on the pair. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Great lasting and confidence inspiring tires which will serve you well on the commute.
Great tires for commuting and confidence. Replaced some horrible Michelin PR4's (owned PR2's, which I thought performed much better). No issues with break in, solid cold/wet weather performance, pretty decent warm weather grip, EXCELLENT longevity. Working to 20k miles on my set, 1.5 years of solid 30+ mile commutes per day. These tires last much better, and will provide you with much better confidence than the PR series with dual compounds which can be tricky unless your tires are in a good temperature range. I have to say the PR4s were an absolute disaster for me, they never scrubbed in and caused me to have to slow down in the mid 30's when the temperature was in the 30s, while cornering on the highway. Zero confidence in those tires, these are night and day. Thanks Dunlop. These tires will outlast and out perform both sets of Michelin tires, however they are not as sticky as the tires which came with the bike, some battle axes, however these tires will last easily twice as long. confirmed, they will last 2+ years/20k+miles if you don't push them too hard. Very good commuter tires for almost all weather conditions. ... show more

  • Good price, stick to the road in wet & dry conditions
I used this on a round the USA trip and they worked flawlessly. Great on the slap and in the twisties. My only complaint is that they started cupping quite badly after my 8500 mile trip. I haven't had that kind of cupping for many years. It still rides great on my 1999 BMW R1100RT and I'll probably put another 1-2 K more miles on. ... show more

  • Great improvement over the P4 tires on bike! I love it!
I purchased this tire to replace the worn Michelin P4 on the front of my Yamaha FJR1300. To say I am happy with its initial performance is a understatement. As other reviewers have said, the ride is extremely good. Much more comfortable than the P4's. The tire requires much less effort to initiate a turn and makes the whole bike feel like it just lost 200 lbs. But perhaps the biggest change is the improvement in low-speed handling. It is very linear and more controllable than the P4, even compared to when the P4 was new. And as the P4 wore, it became almost uncontrollable in low speed turns due to massive turn-in, ie. the front tire would try to go all the way to the stop; took a lot of strength just to keep it from cramping in and causing the bike to stop and tip-over. Even moderate speed (traffic circles) were a little dicy. The Roadsmart III is very neutral and easy to control. It is paired with the P4 rear tire which was only about 50% worn. I was concerned with mixing the tires but it works perfectly. When the P4 rear tire is worn I will replace it with a Roadsmart III. I only have about 80 miles on the tire. When I get some indication of wear I will update the review. ... show more

  • Very good value
My third set on a Concous 1400. Good grip for canyon riding (get them warmed up) and a very stable tire for touring. Average 13K on the previous sets. Have not tried the next version as these run so well and the price has come down. * This is an edit/add as of 10/2/23. Recently changed rides from the C14 to a Ninja 1000SX which come with the Bridgestone S22, where the front tire is toast after 3600+ miles. The S22 is a good feeling tire, don't get me wrong. And, therefore, thought of just replacing the front as the back may have another 3-4K miles left. After considering having to replace them both after another 3K miles, I decided to go with the Roadsmart III. I was hesitant to use these on the Ninja thinking they would not be as responsive on the lighter bike. This may be a bit early, but after getting them scrubbed in now after a couple hundred miles, I have no regrets in making the switch on this machine. Canyon, highway and slow speed are secure in grip and feel. Again, early review with this machine, but I have the same confidence in the tire on this machine as I was accustomed to with the previous sets used on the Concours 14. Safe travels! ... show more
