The PS4 is still alive and kicking! Yes, it's true that a real gamer has their paws all over the PS5 but, like many, the price point of the PS5 is just too freaking high. So, the PS4 does the trick. However, there's nothing worse then the controller buttons going on the fritz just when you're about to take on the hordes of invaders from where ever they happen to be coming from. Yeah, frozen buttons are no fun - because then the bad guys win while you there pounding on the buttons, try to get them to work (game over). So it's time for a new controller. I thought I was doing myself a favor by going the "budget controller" route but found out very quickly that you get what you pay for when it comes to budget PS4 controllers. So, back to the drawing board. I spotted this "renewed" controller by Amazon and snapped it up. And it works exactly the same as the controllers that came with the unit. All the buttons are in the same place and it is pretty much a stock Sony PS4 controller, and for a lot less than you'd pay for a brand-new one. All the same features and a lower price. And I'm back to saving the world with all of my functional buttons! And it gets my full 5 star rating!

I ordered a dualshock 4 controller and when I received it, it didn't work whatsoever. It didn't charge, it didn't connect to any devices, and the only time I could even get it to have the light in the controller turn on is when the controller was plugged in and I held the Playstation button the light flashed a few times and then it shut off. I even tried hitting the sync button in the back of the controller to see if maybe it was a connection issue but it didn't do anything. The TouchPad in the middle of the controller sticks whenever you push it down and it's the same thing with the Playstation button. The screws in the back of the controller had battery acid that made my fingers start to burn when I touched them (which is how I knew it was battery acid). There were also a few scratches on the TouchPad and the plastic casing in front of the light on the outside/front of the controller however, I didn't really think much of it due to it being a "renewed" controller. Overall I spent about $40 on the controller and that's now $40 I'll never get back or even get what I paid for because of the state of the controller and the fact that Amazon won't allow me the option to return the controller or speak to the seller.

Buttons are very responsive, feels brand new! Only problem, sometimes it doesn't want to connect/ turn then PS4 on when I press the PS button, it'll just flash white. I have to plug it back into the PlayStation for a second, and basically re-pair it almost every time.

I thought I was getting a refurbished original Sony-brand PS4 controller, but what I got was a knockoff. If you're particular about your game controllers and want a controller that exactly matches the original Sony version, don't buy this "Renewed" version. The face buttons clack and get stuck, the face buttons don't have the subtle rounded edges the original buttons have, the PS button presses in too far, the touchpad on the controller isn't seated correctly (it's crooked if you look closely at the alignment on the back), the light is not original (cheaper-looking light, not uniformly bright), the Sony logo above the charging port gives away that this is an imitation, and overall, the controller feels lighter and cheaper. If you don't mind these imperfections, then go for it - you get what you pay for.
