So I've been through three portable ACs in the past few years alone. Much like dehumidifiers, they don't last long anymore. The prices are sky high and the quality is rock bottom. The other portable ACs that I bought were single hose, so I figured I would try a double hose one despite the price difference. After much much research, as I do, I landed on this unit and purchase it in April of 2025. First impression, dern this thing cools off a room like no other. The first night I set it on the lowest setting 62, hypothermia nearly set in. Eventually discovered 66 was plenty cool enough, felt much colder than the previous units set at 60, which I know doesn't make sense but that was my impression. I really like the energy savings that this unit boasted, and while I never actually tested it I have no reason to believe it's not genuine because my electric bills have not increased that much so far. Also, I have not drained the unit, therefore it must have very good self- evaporating functionality despite not boasting about it. Why I chose the dual hose over the single hose you may ask. Yes, you'll hear about negative air pressure blah blah, but I was more about the efficiency. Simply put, with a dual hose system, one pulling in fresh air from the outside and one exhausting hot air, the unit is just much more efficient which translates into not only energy savings but wear and tear on the unit itself. Meaning it should last longer, cool more efficiently, and save electricity cost. So far, I am very pleased with the results. To take it a step further, the company very much stands behind the product, which is a big deal to me. I contacted customer service for a few minor complaints- the lights not turning off and being very bright and the unit shutting off once temperature was reached. I'm all about the ambient sleeping noise and was accustomed to the fan staying on even after the condenser turned off when desired temperature was reached. Customer service responded to my email within a couple hours, apologized for the lights and said they would change it in the following Year's model! What? This company is going to change their AC's because I mentioned that the lights were too bright and won't turn off and they thought it was a great idea so they're going to implement the change next year!! Concerning the fan not staying on even after the condenser goes off, the company said that last year's model did in fact stay on but people complained about it therefore they changed this year's model to have it turn off. Not sure what person would complain about the fan staying on, that's silly, but still this company actually listens to its customers. The company said look you can return it for a full refund or you can keep the unit and get a refund! That's right, to top it all off, they gave me the air conditioner for free, refunded my account, said if I wasn't satisfied they didn't want my money!!! Also said next year's model is going to have an option for the fan to stay on or off. What a company huh. So I keep the unit, put a shirt over the light and keep a box fan running at night for ambient noise when the air conditioner turns off.

Our house is two stories, and approximately 3,200 sq ft. Rather than turning the thermostat down in order to make it cool enough to rest well, we purchased our first portable HVAC unit about 6 years ago, in order to cool down just the master bedroom, without cooling the whole house. This is the third portable HVAC unit we have purchased. The first two were from a different manufacturer, and were also 14,000 BTU, also with seperate dual hoses (intake and exhaust). Each of the first two units were only operational for 2-3 years, before they began generating significant amounts of condensation water overnight. The most recent unit produced over two quarts of water a day. The only solution was to elevate the unit and place a pan underneath to allow the water to empty out, so that the units did not shut down overnight, due to the internal tank being full. After this happened twice from the same manufacturer, we decided to try a different brand of portable HVAC. After reading reviews from a number manufacturers, we decided to try the Gasbye Cool Prime 10000 model, as it had virtually no negative reviews. We have had the unit for several days now and so far are very pleased. You can attach and leave the included plastic tubing onto the the upper water chamber outlet, and let the water drain into a pan while the unit is running, or if you prefer to leave the upper chamber outlet closed, when you want to drain the upper chamber, you can open the valve, attach the hose, and drain into a pan, which greatly, minimizes the chance of spilling water all over the floor. Instructions for installing the window trim pieces needed to attach the dual hoses was very clear and easy to interpret. The Manufacturer Warranty is up to three years from date of purchase, which most other units seem to come with only one year. We have had the unit for several days now and so far am very pleased with the performance. The amount of condensation water generated so far is a very small fraction compared to the other units we have had in the past.
