I recently purchased the DTK Battery Replacement for my Ryobi 40V power tools, and my experience with it has been fairly average. This battery does have some pros and cons worth mentioning. On the positive side, it charges without any issues and fits perfectly into my Ryobi power washer, so compatibility is not a problem. The fact that it comes at a significantly lower price point than the official Ryobi brand is a definite advantage for budget-conscious consumers like myself. It's a cost-effective alternative for those looking to expand their collection of batteries without breaking the bank. However, there are some notable drawbacks. One of the most significant downsides is its relatively short lifespan when used with my power washer. It didn't last as long as I had hoped, and I found myself having to recharge it more frequently than my other batteries. This could be attributed to the lower amp-hour (AH) rating compared to some of my other batteries, which is a bit perplexing considering that it's lighter in weight. Speaking of weight, it's worth mentioning that this DTK replacement battery is noticeably lighter than my other batteries with lower AH ratings. While this might make it more comfortable to handle and carry around, it doesn't necessarily translate to longer usage, as I had expected. ... show more

The OEM Ryobi batteries are really expensive and this unit is priced at less than half of the original, with all of the same performance. The battery came charged out of the box but I put it on my charger to verify compatibility and it immediately began topping off. After 20 minutes or so the charging was complete so I mounted the battery on my string trimmer and went to work on my half acre yard - It takes 2 fully charged 2.0AH batteries to complete my yard or 1 fully charged 4.0AH, and by the time I finished this battery was still showing half full! I mounted the battery to my blower and there was enough power left to finish the entire task (about 20 minutes worth of work) and the battery still had some life left. Time will tell as to the overall life of the battery, but finishing my entire yard with a single charged battery is outstanding! ... show more

Battery was fully charged and worked right out of the box. Problem was that when it needed to be recharged I tired 3 different Ryobi charges and all three showed that the battery was bad and it would not recharge.

I have been using Ryobi's 40v system for many years now. My Ryobi mower can mow my yard with our 6 Amp Hour battery with 1-2 bars of charge left. This battery is the size of our small, 2.6 Amp Hour battery and is even lighter than it, however, it claims to be 6.2 Amp Hours in capacity. If you look at my picture, this battery is on the right and claims to have more capacity than the battery on the left. Maybe this is made of flat cells rather than the typical cylinder cells that my other packs are made of. This would give it more energy density. Based on my own real-world usage, I would estimate the capacity to be 4 Amp Hours. It is certainly not the 6.2 Amp Hours that are stated, but it is considerably higher capacity than the Ryobi 2.6 Amp Hour batter that is the same size. I really do wish they correctly stated the actual capacity. Otherwise, it charged, and I was able to use it exactly like the OEM batteries. ... show more

My problem is the battery runs down before I'm done and I have to wait for it to recharge. This battery solves that problem. It is a perfect fit and recharges with my original charger. Charged right up to 100% on the charger my tool came with, so zero issues there. The battery seemed to be significantly more powerful than the OEM one that I used all summer long. I fully understand that every new battery will be optimal for a little while, but this one seemed to make the tool perform better than it ever did with the older battery.
