I bought this 2-pack of DEWALT 20V MAX XR 6Ah batteries because the price was too good to pass up, and I’m really glad I grabbed them. These high-capacity batteries last a long time, and they’ve made a noticeable difference with the tools I use most. Whether I’m running drills, saws, or impact drivers, the power feels consistent and strong all the way through the charge. One thing I appreciate is how much less often I have to stop and swap batteries now. For bigger jobs or long days on a construction site, that extra run time really pays off. If you have any Dewalt 20v power tool, you can't go wrong with these batteries. On a side note though, i own a 5ah battery that came with one of my tools, and then i decided to get these 6ah batteries to expand the time of work. Curiously, my 5ah battery lasts as long if not a little longer than any of these two 6ah batteries, they all have the same power, but for some very odd reason, the lesser capacity one last a tad bit longer. I have not measured this with a stopwatch though, and i could be just mistakenly making assumptions, but my perception is that. Anyways, with the three batteries i now own, i'm able to complete all my lawn trimming and gardening tasks, and have power to spare. I die of thirst and tiredness much faster than these batteries run out of juice. They should be priced lower though, if i was Dewalt, i would rather put multiple batteries in a lot of homes in general, than selling fewer units for better profit, but they are Dewalt and i'm nobody, so what they are doing works better for them, than my ideas.

I bought these because I have a large collection of DeWalt tools that get regular use between maintaining my primary residence and renovating a lake cottage. Over the years I've accumulated several 2Ah, 4Ah, and 5Ah batteries, but as my projects became larger and more demanding, I found myself wanting longer runtime and more sustained power. The project that really sold me on these batteries was cleaning up a fallen tree. I had roughly a 40-foot tree on the ground that needed to be de-limbed and cut into manageable sections. Using my DeWalt 20V chainsaw and one of these 6Ah XR batteries, I was able to process the entire tree on a single charge. The tree ranged from approximately 6 to 10 inches in diameter, and I was genuinely impressed by both the runtime and consistent power delivery. I've also used these batteries with higher-demand tools such as grinders, circular saws, reciprocating saws, and outdoor power equipment. Compared to my smaller batteries, the difference is noticeable. Tools seem to maintain power better under load, and I spend far less time swapping batteries or waiting for chargers. Yes, they're heavier than the smaller packs, but for applications where runtime matters more than weight, it's a tradeoff I'm happy to make. For quick jobs, I still reach for my smaller batteries. For anything involving cutting, grinding, demolition, tree work, or extended use, these are now my first choice. If you're already invested in the DeWalt 20V platform and find yourself doing larger projects, I believe the 6Ah XR batteries are one of the best upgrades you can make. They've become my go-to batteries for any job that requires serious runtime and sustained performance.
