Nicely made, works well on paper and tape.
I’m a scale modeler and bought this device to cut circles for paint masks on wheel hubs, engine inlets, etc. I found it to be well made and there are detailed instructions printed on the outside of the storage box. I “played” with the unit and made nice circles on paper, 3M blue painters tape and 3M frosted transparent tape. I deviated from the instructions a little. I set the radius first, then placed the unit on the paper and rotated the device a few turns, then I added pressure to the knife and rotated again, I continued this process until I could feel the friction of the knife on the paper, then added about another quarter of a turn and the circle separated from the paper. Nice clean cut out! Misses: The radius settings are stamped in the clear plastic and difficult to read, so getting an exact mm measurement is difficult if your trying to get a precisely sized circle (which is what I’m trying to achieve most of the time). So there is some trial and error until I zero in on the size. If you’re just cutting circles for crafts you can skip the trial and error and get good results from the first cut. The size adjustment is a little sticky to move, but I think it will smooth out once it’s broken in. Once the radius is set and locked the unit will continue to cut out identical circles. Overall I am happy with the product.

Great little roundel maker!
Great tool! I use it for cutting roundels for model aircraft. It does have a little trouble with masking tape on making circles smaller than 5mm, take your time. I recommend using a pane of glass for your cutting surface. I do love mine! Makes multi-colored roundels so much easier!!! Highly recommend!

Functional but needs improvement
It works, but the product would benefit from tighter tolerances. It cuts acceptable circles down to 8mm, but good luck getting anything smaller thanks to excessive play in the cutting bit socket. The graduation marks could be much finer and more easily visible.

This is a great circular mask cutter.
I love this tool. I simply can't believe I waited this long to get this amazing tool. It is the perfect size to make perfect circular masks for all my modelling needs. I can't get over how well it makes the circles. Adjusting the blade is easy to do, though you might need a dot of lubricant to get the adjustment arm to move freely. The included blade is nice and sharp, so take care not to dull it by improperly adjusting the needle too far down. I found I got the best results by adjusting the blade to be just barely cutting and then slowly turning it down a bit to make a perfect cut without digging into your cutting mat. The magnetic storage container is actually super handy. Keeps everything nice and tidy so you can just pop this into a drawer without worrying about where the blades went.

Best circle cutter under $50
