Feels soft like a kind of microfiber. I like that it does stop a lot of dust but it still allowed my new filter to look 10 years old after the first use for both. Maybe it was the expensive but ineffective filter but either way this cover does not stay up with the elastic included in the cover so a lot of dust gets through to the filter.

I was employed with a Dry Cleaner store. I noticed the suction was not normal. I know what to do. This filter was torn in half. It was so full of dirt. I took it outside and pounded it on the sidewalk. Now, I discovered another problem. When we suck fine particles, this kind of dirt easy gets caught by the filter and thus not allow the motor to do it's job. You can stomp it outside on the sidewalk. You can run your finger through each of the grooves, you can also, though I have not done it yet, dunk it over and over in a bucket of warm soapy water to gently you a soft toothbrush to clean each of the grooves, then dunk in cold water, then let it air dry. In other words these filters can be used over and over again. This bag does fit on the large white shop vac filters after you put the filter on the machine. I have not used it for me to report what I think will happen. If I remove bag, I think what I am going to see is a clean filter. You want to pick up heavy material, they will not clog the filter.

I did some major house cleaning and used the vacuum to clean everything instead of sweeping. I cleaned some upper shelves that hadn't been done in a while that had a lot of dust. By the time I was done this filter had at at least a quarter inch of dust all around it. I had to scrape it off onto the trash before removing it from the filter. The filter underneath looked brand new. It didn't look like even a speck of dust was on it. I was actually shocked to see how well it worked. I washed this cover by hand in the sink and put it back on again. I have done a lot of reviews for other products I have purchased, but this is, by far, the best product I have ever purchased. If I could give it 10 stars I would. You will not be disappointed.

I got this because I was tired of having my primary shop vac filter always getting clogged and needing cleaning so figured this may make things simpler. For most jobs this does save the primary filter but this also clogs fast and after a few uses it is very loaded with dust and requires cleaning itself beyond my normal blow out. Meaning it will need a washing. On a finer dust (brick dust) it goes right through this thing to the primary filter so this failed on that type of dust.

Love the idea of having this cover for my shop vac filter. It has definitely prolonged the life of my filter. Does not interfere with the suction power or the overall function of my shop vac. Cannot beat the price compared to the branded version which I’m sure serves the same purpose.

It works, but doesn't really make dealing with dust clogging any easier. Instead of dust clogging your filter, dust clogs the filter cover. Either way you generate a cloud of dust in your shop when getting the dust off the filter or the cover.
