  • Another great jacket from Carhartt
Size: Medium Color: Black
Top quality jacket as expected from Carhartt. Seems very warm although it hasn't been too cold yet, only in the 40's where I'm at. We'll see come winter I guess. I have the Bartlett jacket and the Detroit jacket as well and it's definitely warmer than either of those. I am impressed with the design and fit of this jacket, it's not bulky as some others have said and it weighs almost nothing. It's also quite comfortable with plenty of range of motion. It's a lot like a snowmobile or ski jacket and you could wear it for that if so inclined. Would also be a great jacket for mountain guides or winter hiking, it certainly seems durable enough. I'm 6'1" 180 pounds, slim build with long arms and the medium size fits perfectly. I normally wear large in most jackets but Carhartt stuff is always oversized especially being labeled as "loose fit" so you might want to go down one size unless you're planning on wearing a bunch of mid layers. If you're on the fence about this jacket don't hesitate to buy it, you won't regret it. ... show more

  • Best coat I’ve had
Size: Large Color: Black
Very warm and wind resistant. Highly durable and comfortable. Minimalistic style is always a plus in my book. The hood is a great size (I have a giant head), but if you want something you can tighten, this isn’t it. I like the inside pocket with a zipper on the left. I put so much in it and hardly notice any bulk. ... show more

  • Love it so far
Size: Small Color: Black
Size small: Have not had the change to give a review for winter yet, however on the cooler days 38/40 degrees and raining; it was warm with just a tshirt and didn’t absorb the rain. Comfortable, durable, a little baggy which is perfect for a hoodie or sweater underneath in the cold season. Plenty of pocket space, inside zip pocket is large enough to carry a ccw. Length is just below the waist, I’m 5’6. ... show more

  • Durable, lightweight, and mobile (although a bit noisy)
Size: Large Color: Black
I am 5' 11" and 200 lbs and went with the large after trying on a medium at a local store. The medium felt like it could work but I wanted a slightly more relaxed fit to accommodate layers. I am glad I went with the large. I have a full range of motion without anything pulling or being taut. Both the inner sleeve elastic and the outer sleeve fit me perfectly, although due to the nature of the sleeves you have to mess with it to see your watch and get it back in place. It is both lighter and thinner than I would have imagined given how warm and wind-resistant it is which is nice. It does have a nylon shell which, while probably very durable and abrasion resistant, is not the quietest material out there. If you're actually out working with it on, the sound falls off your radar fast but if you're standing outside in silence, you may be surprised by how loud it seems as you move your arms around, especially with the hood up. There are plenty of winter jackets around the $200 price point, but if you're looking for durability, light weight, and range of motion, this one is tough to beat from my viewpoint. ... show more

  • Best coat ever
Size: XX-Large Color: Black
Best coat I've ever had. Keeps out the rain and the cold excellently. I feel warm enough to not even need any other layers on underneath.

  • Excellent for the price
Size: Large Color: Black
I’ll start with the CONS: the front pockets don’t have a button or zipper, and since they are cut horizontally, they can keep your hands warm in mild weather but you shouldn’t keep valuables in them, as they will fall out. Also, if you are looking for the cozy feeling of a puffy down coat, look elsewhere. That said, here are the PROS: -the jacket is truly warm. This morning it is 14F in New York City and I was walking around without a worry. Underneath, I only have a t-shirt, a collar shirt, a cotton sweater, and one of those very thin Uniqlo vests. I could fit at least two additional layers if I needed to, but this is more than enough for 14F with little wind. -the jacket is roomy and comfortable. The material is sturdy and reasonably water-repellent. If you spend prt of your work day outside, this is a very good choice. You’re not going to look like a model with a custom-fit designer jacket, but if that’s not your goal in life, then this jacket is for you. -the jacket sits right at your belt line. This allows you to walk, bike, ride the subway, drive a car with the jacket on, without any discomfort. You can move naturally. It is truly versatile, much more so than a parka. -the hood has an excellent cut: it stays on, allows for great side visibility while at the same time it is close enough to your face to keep your head warm. Again, it’s 14F outside and I am comfortable without a hat if I pull up the hood. -the inside chest pockets are nice and roomy. The zippered one, in particular, is large and well positioned. The other is not as well positioned but still roomy and usable. On the whole, for the price, this is a high quality product and I’m satisfied to the point where I just spent my subway ride writing this review instead of reading the newspaper. ... show more

  • Warm, light-weight, zips up tight
Size: Medium Color: Black
Well-made jacket that does what it's supposed to do. Much warmer than my other jackets. Seems waterproof though I haven't been out in the rain for hours at a time to really test it. Tough outer material resists ripping. No detectable damage after a winter of abuse. The hood zips up tight around your head. Size runs a bit large, but that's typical for Carhartt. Only downside is black sure does attract and show all manner of dog hair, wood ash, sawdust, etc. But it all comes off easily as well. I would probably have selected a lighter color if one was available. You buy from Carhartt because you're going to get it dirty, and black is not the best color for the sort of dirt I operate in. Would definitely buy it again. No regrets! ... show more

  • Superior Quality, Warmth & Value
Size: Large Color: Black
Amazing work jacket. Very durable. It cuts the wind and keeps you super warm. I’m not sure there is a better work jacket available anywhere for the value you get from this!!! It is a little tight in my upper back/shoulder area when doing certain tasks at work, but that’s probably my fault. I have a muscular build and I went large instead of XL. Everything else about the jacket is phenomenal. Carhartt is the truth! ... show more
